On Friday, May 7, 2021, we celebrated the retirement of Capt. Mike Klos, #22. He retired with over 35 year of service with the Maryland Heights Police Department. He had served over 39 years in law enforcement. He was one of the original 40 officers hired in 1985. We want to thank Capt. Klos for his years of service to the Maryland Heights residents. ... We wish him all the best in his next chapter!

Many have asked for the procession route for Officer Matthew Schmitz, on December 8, 2020. The procession route will be as follows: Exiting Baue Funeral Home heading east bound 70 to south bound 270.... Exiting Dorsett Road heading east towards the Maryland Height Government Center. At approximately 9:45 am we will proceed past the Maryland Heights Government Center. The procession will continue on Dorsett to south bound Schuetz Road then heading west bound on Page Avenue to south bound 270. The procession will continue south bound 270 to Telegraph Rd. Entering Jefferson Barracks Memorial Cemetery, where Officer Schmitz will be laid to rest.

We are so blessed to serve this wonderful community! We have received lots of love and special treats over the past few weeks! From lunches, homemade cookie, handmade Christmas cards for every single person that works within the police department, Special handmade remembrance picture (Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital) to all kinds of goodies!! ... All have warmed our hearts and made us feel very grateful!! The men and women of the Maryland Heights Police Department "Thank You", each and every one of you!!!
*Updated Information* Officer Schmitz will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 8 at Jefferson Barracks. It's with deep sadness we announce the passing of patrol Officer Matthew Schmitz, due to natural causes this morning.... Officer Schmitz served the City of Maryland Heights for more than 23 years. He was also a US Navy Veteran who served our country during Operation Desert Storm. We extend our condolences to the Schmitz family. Officer Schmitz will be dearly missed and we thank him for his service to our community.
