There is a critical need for donors due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting our country. If you are planning to attend the Officer Molly Bowden Memorial Blood Drive on Friday, Jan. 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Grace Bible Church located at 601 Blue Ridge Road, you are encouraged to make an appointment, however, walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, please visit the Red Cross website at www.redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). ... All donations will be tested for the COVID-19 anti-body. For your safety, donor beds will be spaced at least 6 feet apart, temperatures will be taken of every donor before entering the site and hand sanitizer will be readily available.

First Impact is offering a free 90-minute evidence-based traffic safety program that educates parents and teen drivers about Missouri's Graduated Driver License law. The goal of First Impact is to eliminate motor vehicle fatalities and injuries and reduce the number of crashes among teen drivers by increasing parental awareness and enforcement of Missouri’s GDL law. Programs like this support Vision Zero, which is a policy and data-driven strategy to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries. Columbia adopted a Vision Zero policy in 2016.
