B-rad's will be closed today, Sunday 10/18. We'll be back in business this coming Thursday the 22nd. Thanks to all who came out and supported us for our 1 year anniversary.

One year ago this coming Saturday the 17th, B-rad's and 11 other vendors had the official soft opening of The Iron District. The next day we opened to the public and it's been controlled chaos every since. 2020 upended our well laid plans (and absolutely everyone else's) but we persevered and now find ourselves ready to celebrate something special - our 1 year anniversary ! Most of the vendors will be running specials of some kind including some great deals from our retai...lers. Christmas will be here before you know it so check them out for gifts. Without our loyal (and always new) customers none of this would have been possible. In appreciation of this we are offering our Chivito sandwich and Chinese BBQ Pork Belly Tacos at double their normal size but at the same price. We'd love for people to have enough food to share with their friends. We'll even provide a knife so you can cut it up however you want ! We'll always be serving the Classic American Cheeseburger. Also this week will be the return of GUMBO ! Trying to convey appreciation, love and thankfulness across this medium is very difficult for us to do without an entire wall of text. And no one like reading through all of that. So please know Kansas City that when we earned this opportunity to open B-rad's we never thought it would be this successful. We love and appreciate everyone who has supported us from the start and continued to through this tough time. We look forward to serving you this weekend. See more

This weekend, B-rad's plans to bring out the wurst in you. Iron District is celebrating Oktoberfest Friday and Saturday and B-rad's is offering sausages. We'll be serving locally made bratwursts from Bichelmeyer Meats (KCK)- simmered in onions, Boulevard Brewing Company (KC, MO) Kolsch lager with a little O'Malley Beverage (St. Joe, Mo) stout for depth. On the side we'll have bacon-sauerkraut as well as warm German style potato salad. Beer cheese dip to dredge your bavarian style soft pretzels through ? Perhaps. You'll just have to come and visit us to find out. We'll also be adding chicken as an option to our Chinese BBQ tacos in addition to our pork belly. Beautiful weather, good music, delicious food. Repeat after me.............these are a few of my FAV-OR-ITE things. Come and see us !

What a perfect fall weekend we're expecting ! Beautiful sunshine and cooler temperatures the rest of this week means it's time to chill at The Iron District. We'll be serving smoked pork belly and andouille sausage gumbo this weekend. It's very rich and comforting, served with popcorn rice, a little parsley and topped with fried okra. The sausage is from Kansas City's own Fritz's Meat & Sausage. We'll also have this available in a 'Ragin' Wanna-Be Cajun' size of 32oz with... lots of rice. And if you want it spicy, we will accommodate you and then some ! We'll also be offering apple pies for 2. We'll be picking apples from Historic Weston Apple Orchard & Vinyard for these pies tomorrow and have them available beginning Thursday for lunch. B-rad's grandmother's apple pie recipe is German - heavy cream is added just before baking the apples to make a rich, decadent filling. It's soooo gooood. Come and see us ! See more

Heavy showers this afternoon means B-rad's will most likely close before 6pm as scheduled. There is beautiful weather predicted for next week if you like cooler temperatures (which we do). And cooler temperatures mean GUMBO !

This weekend we'll be offering 4 daily special sandwiches. We scored another case of our excellent homegrown tomatoes as well as a case of our favorite thick cut bacon, so BLT's will be on offer. We will have Kansas City's only Chivito steak sandwich. Our other 2 sandwiches will be your choice of sliced slowly braised Chinese BBQ pork belly or marinated steak on our Farm to Market egg buns with cha lua (house made Vietnamese steamed pork sausage), soy sauce/garlic/ginger mayo and a slaw of pickled shredded carrot, radish, jalapeno and fresh cucumber in lime dressing. It banh mi-ish-tastic !

Update 9/11/20: We will be open for lunch beginning at 11am today. If the weather continues to be rainy and cold we will not be open for dinner service this evening. ****************************** Brrrrr. And it's wet. ... We'll be closed tonight 9/10/20 and will keep our eye on tomorrows weather. It looks like a day very similar to today is forecast so we may be closed Friday 9/11/20. Saturday and Sunday look to be beautiful. We scored another batch of super delicious home grown tomatoes that may very well be the last of their kind for this season. We'll be featuring our BLT with maple-black pepper basted bacon. Jodie is making chicken and noodles, so substitute french fries for a cup of the good stuff. Go Chiefs ! See more

Can it be that summer is actually winding down ? It'll be hot early this week but in the mid 80's Saturday and Sunday - a perfect weekend to hang out at the Iron District. We had fun with noodles last week but this week we're feeling a pulled chicken sandwich with Jamaican-style jerk flavors. We're not going for pure authenticity here (no Tastee Cheese or grilling), but we'll have the jerk flavor profile with some enhancements. Seasoned, roasted chicken topped with Americ...an cheese, jerk inspired mustard-mayo-habanero sauce (it is spicy), mango-onion-jalapeno-lime relish, all on a fresh Farm to Market Bun. Served with fries. We love our customers and do our best to accommodate their tastes for our menu offerings. For this sandwich, we have made the decision to respectfully decline any requests for modifications (additions, subtractions, components on the side). The flavors are all designed to meld together into a flavorful, spicy sandwich that is unique to B-rad's. So trust us ! We want you to enjoy our creation as it is meant to be eaten. This week we're serving a noodles ! Choose Chinese BBQ pork belly -or- Orange Chicken over Japanese udon noodles. Topped with basil, pickled carrots, daikon radish, fresh cucumbers and our slightly spicy pepper sauce. The noodles are tossed in either Chinese BBQ or our house orange sauce based on your protein selection. These noodles are hard to find so the special goes only as long as they last !

We're looking forward to the first trivia night at Iron District this Thursday from 6-8pm. If you hear the question 'Which establishment in KC is the ONLY place in KC you can get a Chivito Steak Sandwich ?' the answer is 'B-RAD's !'. With the french fries our Chivito weighs in at just under 1.75lbs. You'll not go away hungry. We look forward to serving you this weekend !

What a week for The Iron District and B-rad's ! Thank you Kansas City !! What makes ID so fantastic ? High temps only in the 70's and 80's (in July & August - 2 weeks in a row), all outdoor seating, live music, 7 local food vendors, 4 local retailers and a bar all in one place.....are you kidding me ?!??! That's what makes Iron District so fantastic. Anyone remember the turkey-pepperoni sandwich from B-rad's last year ? Just asking........ As always we'll be serving Chine...se BBQ Pork Belly Tacos, our All American Cheeseburger and Chivito steak sandwich this week. We're still looking at a 4th everyday menu item and will be doing some experimentation. Perhaps turkey...perhaps chicken..... That's really all we can say at this point. We'll have our Snacks and Music Menu this week featuring Street Sized Steak Tacos and one other surprise option (you'll just have to come down and see). We'll also be serving locally made chips from Carniceria Y Tortilleria San Antonio in KCK with our in-house made tomato salsa. We look forward to feeding you at B-rad's. See more

FINALLY a break in the heat. Last week was great at Iron District with the courtyard shades and a nice breeze. This week should be even better with temperatures that aren't like the surface of the sun. A perfect reason to come down and chill at ID with music (Friday and Saturday), a cold cocktail and some great food. Our Chivito steak sandwich has proven to be so popular that we have decided to make it a permanent addition to the menu. You cannot get this sandwich anywher...e else in town ! Thanks to everyone who tried it on Saturday and for your patience when we had 22 ordered in the span of 30 minutes ! (in addition to a lot of cheeseburgers, pork belly tacos and sliders). Our little flat top grill is only 24 inches by 24 inches and was full from one end to the other with Chivito awesomeness. For our B-rad's Snacks With Music Menu Friday and Saturday we'll be selling Street Size Steak Tacos (grilled chivito steak, homegrown tomato relish and queso fresco) and Char Siu BBQ Pork Ribs (St. Louis cut pork ribs with a Chinese style BBQ sauce). This week we will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday 11am-6pm. 2020 has been.......difficult to navigate as a small business owner. These past 4 weeks have been AWESOME at Iron District with people coming out and supporting B-rad's specifically and ID generally. Now that we have a better handle on what business will be like we're staying open until 9pm on the weekends. We will be featuring snacks from 7pm-9pm Friday and Saturday. We'll have street s...ized mini steak tacos and evapi - Bosnian style house made sausages on little slider dog rolls with sour cream, savory-sweet-a little spicy-tomato jam and chopped pepperoncini. Elmere ? If you're out there we'll hook you up this week - guaranteed ! . Our street tacos are that much better with our habanero hot sauce (no whining ! ) and a cold cocktail. As always we'll have our classic cheeseburger (with Big Sexy upgrades), our Chinese BBQ Pork Belly Tacos and The One and Only Chivito Steak Sandwich in town.
