I'm not convinced that he hasn't spotted a phantom around the store. He's hunting something, but there is nothing there!
Hiding out from the rain
Googey knocked a Complete Works of Byron from 1870 off the counter shattering the cover. This is Pushkin behavior, Googey! Anyway, if anyone wants the Complete Works of Byron with a detached cover: $2!
If you watched the new "Trial of the Chicago 7" film on Netflix and want to know more about Abbie Hoffman, we have a few used copies of his autobiography. If you think I posted this because I literally have no room to shelve books in the History section, and I have three of these there taking space, and I have 4 stacks of history books to shelve...you would be correct.
This weekend Green Circle Video will be having a pop-up video store in our art room. So bust out the VCR cleaning tape and get ready to watch some tapes.
Have to be closed again today. I held up the thermometer to the reading lamp to convince mom to let me stay home and drink Sprite and watch Judge Judy. (I really am sorry and if you try to come in today and find us closed, let me know and I'll give you 80% discount next time, I promise). Also not to overshare but this is more of a Brian Wilson type of not being able to pull yourself out of bed sickness not a physical one, so don't think I'm going to give you a virus if you come in to buy Dave Eggers novels!
Taking a sick day today and it's the worst day because it's National Boss's Day and I'm certain Googey baked me a cake.
Squash's one week reign of terror at the store ends tonight. He has knocked down every mini-pumpkin in the whole store. Sorry sir, it's back to the house with me and Pushkin until your birthday.
I was going to try to put a cute Koala Bear hand on Googey but my phone is in the back playing Phoebe Bridgers and, honestly, I did not want to fight this onto his paw, but it would have looked cute, so just close your eyes and picture it.
The book "Humpty Dumpty's Holiday Stories" jumps from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve. No Christmas. No Hanukkah. Outrageous! It does, however, include Groundhog's Day! Anyway, it is two dollars and does have a kid's pencil marks on the title page.
