Chef Cortney takes on Brunch to help celebrate all those special Moms out there. Make your reservations now for Saturday May 8th- yes you read that right. We are offering it the Saturday before Mother’s Day, celebrate Mom all weekend long!!

If you haven’t paid attention lately, the restaurant industry has become a house of cards for places like us. It’s not just one of the hardest hit because of COVID. Our workforce is no longer there or affordable. The industry can always be supported by customers, but if there’s no one to make and serve your food, there is no industry. ... Potential employees are being compensated with stimulus checks, promises of a $15 minimum wage, and extra unemployment payments, and therefore, small mom and pop places like us are threatened because we CAN’T find anyone to work. We won’t get into work ethics, and motivation, but we simply can’t afford a higher minimum wage without passing it along to our customers via price increases. We can’t afford to hire new workers because larger companies steal our prospects by throwing more money at starter workers and ours. Even poor quality workers. They are just looking for bodies. We can’t compete with that. We are too small. We’ve watched restaurants close for the day because they were understaffed. We’ve watched restaurants closed permanently because the owners are tired of working long hours because no one else will. We are at this crossroads. Just this evening (2) of our scheduled workers did not come to work. We’ve lost (4) employees in the last week! We’ve fought hard this entire past year, but we need help. WE NEED EMPLOYEES! If you need a job, we can use you. If you know someone that needs a job, we can use them. We can try to pay you as much as we can afford, and give you hours. We are a place that will become like family to you if you want to give us the chance. Our house of cards is precarious at the moment. The crossroads don’t look promising either.
