Meet Louisa the Lionheart Warrior! Louisa was diagnosed with high risk acute myeloid leukemia on June 19, 2019. Louisa had two cycles of chemo, followed by a bone marrow transplant in 2019. I first met sweet Louisa and her beautiful loving family in January of this year. They had just found out she had relapsed and hoped for pictures before she underwent another challenging treatment period. ... They pursued a NK cell clinical trial. In August the family returned home cancer-free. After being back home in Alaska for only a few moths, she relapsed again Nov 2020. I was excited for the opportunity to see this sweet family again, but sad that it was under such circumstances. I’m so relieved we were able to capture Louisa and her sisters smiling and happy and together. My hope is that the photos bring comfort and hope during this time of separation and challenges. Days after these pictures were taken, she began yet another treatment journey. Not quite 3 years old yet and she’s been through so much. They have to start treatment over completely. Louisa will be in the hospital for many months. She is enduring so much pain and discomfort. This will be a challenging time for the whole family. Please keep them in your prayers.
