Sheffield Lodge no. 625 19.05.2022

Sheffield Lodge No. 625 will meet tonight at scheduled at 7pm, with dinner before. We have a first degree this evening so if you are interested in participating or attending please join us! This will be the final meeting of Sheffield Lodge before our consolidation with Kansas City Lodge No. 220.

Sheffield Lodge No. 625 and Kansas City Lodge No. 220, both lodges with long histories and rich traditions in the Kansas City Masonic community, have decided to consolidate to create one very strong and vibrant lodge organization. As of March 22, 2022 the two lodges will consolidate under the name and Charter of Kansas City Lodge No. 220. Meetings will be held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 7pm, with dinner before. Meeting location will be the historic Kansas... City Masonic Temple, 903 Harrison Street, which was the home of Sheffield Lodge and the historical home of Kansas City Lodge No. 220 for nearly a century. On Tuesday, March 22 at 7pm the consolidation meeting will be held at 903 Harrison Street. In a unique ceremony the lodge will be opened by Past Masters of both lodges. Election of officers of the new lodge will be conducted and the officers installed. Several Grand Lodge officers will be on hand to assist with this ceremony. A formal charter retirement ceremony for Sheffield Lodge No. 625 will be held later in the year. We invite all area Master Masons to join us for this interesting event as we bring together two lodges to create one very strong and vibrant organization. Dinner will be served starting at 6pm with lodge opening at 7pm.

RWB Mike Wheeler My dad slipped his earthly bonds this morning after a period of decline. Billy Eugene "Bill" Wheeler, 93, passed away January 14, 2021. Bill was born September 22, 1927 to Claude D. Wheeler and Anna Grace (Hopkins) Wheeler at their homestead farm in the community of Black Oak, Missouri. He was a 1945 graduate and class president of Braymer High School. Near the end of World War II, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged before... seeing any combat. On March 9, 1948 he married Marjorie Ann Cox who preceded him in death in 1983. To this union two children were born, son, Michael (Cherrine), who survives him and daughter, Kathy (Bud) Dibben, who preceded him in death. In September 1987 Bill married Kathryn Poe Roberts who survives him. Other survivors are stepchildren, Geoff (Carolyn) Roberts and Greg (Sue) Roberts; grandsons, Michael Shawn Wheeler (Helen) and Aaron Robert Steigler (Jacqueline Curley), several step grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Bill was active in law enforcement much of his life having been elected City Marshal of Northmoor, MO in 1951. From 1955 to 1962 he was a member of the Missouri Highway Patrol. He spent the next 24 years in the insurance business and finally returned to law enforcement, retiring from the Clay County Sheriff’s department as sergeant in September 1992. Bill was a 65 year member of Rising Sun Lodge No. 13 A.F. & A.M., Liberty York Rite Bodies, Kansas City Valley of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and Ararat Shrine. He rode with the Ararat Mounted Guard for sixteen years serving as Captain for three years. He served Ararat Shrine as its Potentate in 1985. Bill was a talented woodworker, spending countless hours in his workshop building many beautiful pieces of oak furniture. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am, on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. RWB Ed Shubert wife Thelma passed away Dec. 26, 2020 below is the OBITUARY Thelma Grace Creason-Shubert APRIL 11, 1923 DECEMBER 26, 2020... Obituary of Thelma Grace Creason-Shubert Thelma Creason-Shubert, 97, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 26. Thelma was born on April 11, 1923 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri to parents Byron Payne and Myrtle Adams-Payne. She met Wayne Creason and after a short courtship, Thelma & Wayne were married on July 23, 1943. At the time of Wayne's passing April, 1999 they had enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Thelma married long time friend, Hugh 'ED' Shubert March 27, 2004 with whom she shared her life with until the time of her passing. Thelma was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and an active member of Golden Gate Chapter #58. She also was a member of True Kindred and she was a long-time member of Antioch Community Church. She retired in 1985 after 22 years of service at Farmland Industries. Thelma was preceded in death by 8 siblings - 6 sisters & 2 brothers and is survived by a brother Delbert Payne and his wife Susie. She is also survived by her children - son; Gary Creason (Janet) of Overland Park, KS and daughter; Judith Creason-Cox (Eddie) of Kansas City, MO. She also enjoyed her grandsons Brian Cox (Lisa) and Kevin Cox (Kim) and 4 great-grandchildren. A private family service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday December 31 followed by graveside service at Mount Moriah Cemetery South with Pastor Harry Foockle officiating. The Grand Master has issued an edict suspending all masonic activities until at least April 24, 2020 in order to help contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus and protect our membership. Therefore, Sheffield Lodge #625 meetings scheduled for April 9 and April 23, 2020 are cancelled.
