Williams Family

Born in 1787 in North C arolina, William "Bill" Shirley Williams was the fourth son of Joseph Williams and just like our Grandpa Thomas Williams, was known for his shocking mane of red hair and his amazing abilities. Bill Williams, besides becoming a pastor, is credited with translating the Bible into a number of native languages and gor brokering disputes between colonizers and native tribes. Legends galore surround his exploits. The city of Williams was named for him. Who knows--He may be a cousin.
