The Clinton Lake Corps of Engineers spent the last ten days completing the first stage of a large-scale rehabilitation of key structures in the control tower. Within the tower, there are two service gates and one emergency gate utilized to control releases from Clinton Lake. In late October 2020, our Dam Safety team and many of the operational staff at Tuttle Creek Lake (and other lakes) near Manhattan, Kan., took part in the draining of the stilling basin and a deep inspection of the dam, the tunnels underneath it for safety and maintenance reasons - all looked great. Update on our Levee rehab status. Holt 10 was awarded last week. Notice to Proceed (NTP) will be issued soon contractor will have 180 days from NTP to complete. At the current pace of construction, we should have all breaches at level of protection restored (except Holt 9, Holt 10, and Rushville) by March 1, 2021. Public Notice, Public Meeting and Comment Opportunity: The Corps is evaluating a request from the North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission for the proposed construction of a 2,328-acre multipurpose reservoir in Sullivan County, Missouri to provide water supply, recreation, and flood damage reduction. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), is the lead federal agency for the project, which is proposed under NRCS’s Watershed Protection and Flood Preven...tion Act, Public Law 83-566 Program. The NRCS issued a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) on October 23, 2020, which is currently open for comment through December 7, 2020.
