Special thank you to the numerous gifts of food and other treats that have been dropped off at the station within the past week. The unconditional thought and support is very much appreciated by our officers and staff. Happy holidays to everyone!

An annual tradition within the Shrewsbury Police Department is the Memorial Tree that is placed in the roll call room with ornaments to remember Police personnel that gave the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty throughout the year. As of today, the tree has 288 ornaments for officers and 18 for police canines. 171 deaths are directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is hard to tell from the photo, but the tree is too full for our likingone is too many. Al...so, represented on this year’s Memorial Tree is a red ornament dedicated to all of the Fire personnel who died in the line of duty during the year. The second red ornament is to honor Retired Fire Captain Ed Hagelstein who served Shrewsbury for 26 years before his retirement. Captain Hagelstein passed away on December 12th. May they never be forgotten and next year's tree be bare. https://www.odmp.org/
