Our office received confirmation of 4 additional deaths, bringing the total to 75. No further information will be released in order to protect the privacy of the families.

Our office will soon begin the process of pre-registration for the next phase of COVID-19 immunizations. This is just a pre-registration (we are not yet able to order the vaccine). This is being done to get an idea of how many people in the Phase 1B category are interested in receiving the vaccine. A form will be available on our website as well as on our Facebook page to fill out and return within the next couple of days. More information will be released regarding the process when the form is made available. We do appreciate everyone's patience at this time. Bothwell Regional Health Center Sedalia, Missouri, Dec. 30, 2020 Due to anticipated winter weather conditions, Bothwell Regional Health Center’s drive-through... COVID-19 testing location at the Missouri State Fairgrounds Sheep Pavilion will be closed Jan. 1 and 2. People with signs and symptoms of the virus should visit the Bothwell Walk In Clinic to be seen by a provider. Clinic hours on Jan. 1 and 2 are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be no curbside testing at this location. The Walk In Clinic is located on the first floor of the Healing Arts Center at 3700 W. 10th Street in Sedalia.

The Health Center has been approved as a vaccination site for COVID-19 and we will be ordering vaccine as soon as the state moves to vaccinating those in the 1B category. The website www.covidvaccine.mo.gov is a good source of information about the COVID vaccine in Missouri. We are asking everyone to be patient as we set up schedules for immunizations in the order of the guidelines for those most at risk. The immunization plan will be by appointment as the process begins. More information will be posted on Facebook, website, and other media as more vaccine becomes available. We can not begin to set up appointments until we know how much and when we will receive vaccine.

There have been many questions regarding when someone can receive their COVID vaccine. Currently, we are waiting for Missouri to move into the next phase in order to start vaccinating those in that high risk category. Vaccines will be given by appointment only. Once the state moves into that next phase and we are able to order vaccine, we will be releasing that info via Facebook and our website. Winter Weather Reminder: Emergency Snow Routes and New Sidewalk Care Central Missouri is under a Winter Storm Watch through Friday afternoon, Jan. 1, 2021. The ...National Weather Services’ forecast predicts a chance for ice up to three tenths of an inch and snow between 1 and 3 inches which could impact roadways and other hard surfaces, such as sidewalks and driveways. The City of Sedalia’s Public Works Department wanted to remind residents not to park along Emergency Snow Routes during snow emergencies. When more than 2 inches of snow/sleet/ice is expected within a 24-hour period, the City declares a snow emergency and the Emergency Snow Routes are put into effect. Parking is prohibited along Emergency Snow Routes once the snow emergency occurs. Emergency Snow Routes help improve traffic flow after a snow storm or significant icing by declaring a parking ban along the designated routes to expedite snow or ice clearing. The Street Department works to keep these designated streets as clear as possible to allow for emergency vehicle use. During 2020, the City has been repairing and replacing sidewalks in the area between S. Ohio Ave. and S. Park Ave and W. Second Street and W. Seventh Street. Residents and businesses in this area having new concrete sidewalks should not use salt on the new concrete surface for removal of ice and snow. Salt can damage concrete by causing corrosion to occur under the surface, leading to discolored, cracked and crumbling concrete. Especially, this first winter for areas with new concrete, Public Works encourages residents and businesses to use sand when necessary to increase traction as it will not cause damage to the new concrete surface. If you’re pregnant, you may discuss COVID-19 vaccines with your doctor, but it’s not required prior to vaccination. CDC and FDA have safety monitoring systems in place to capture information about vaccination during pregnancy and will closely monitor reports.
