Come by the Mercy Moms Expo today at the Mercy Hospital St. Louis Conference Center and learn about our Baby Prep Squad services and classes, learn how to swaddle, and enter to win a $50 gift certificate. There are also keynote speakers running throughout the day and lots of fun and interesting vendors for expectant and experienced Moms alike. Emma, Baby Prep Squad instructor and doula from Emma Ginder Birth and Postpartum Doula Services will be here at our booth from 10-2 talking all things birth and babies. Join her at 3 in the Mercy Birthing Center education room for a free Birth Circle pre and postnatal support group.

Free leftover stuff! Free sectional couch, outdoor play house, train table, shoe cubby, storage unit, desk, retail display, ikea office chair, and mud kitchen. Other random stuff probably as well. Everything will be in our front courtyard besides the couch. Feel free to walk in take anything you may want. No holds. First come first served. I do not have measurements of anything by you can go look at things, as the courtyard is open.... Leave a comment to setup a time to pick up sectional if you want it. First come first served.

Here’s an excellent local segment about what your rights are when you’re breastfeeding (spoiler alert: you can feed anywhere you’re legally allowed to be- you don’t have to cover, go in another room, or leave). We spent the week certifying some amazing new Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Specialists. Now we get to spend the weekend with a full class for Baby 101! Yay! Newborn Care + Breastfeeding + Bottle feeding + Car Seats + Babywearing + Infant CPR + Happiest Baby + Sleep Safety = fun fun for expectant parents and for us! We'll be hosting this in locations throughout St. Louis metro in the future, so if you're interested in a future class, make sure you're following us!

We are on a quest to promote kangaroo care and skin to skin, both in the NICU and well-baby units, in hospitals throughout the country. We are looking for parents in the St. Louis area who did kangaroo care or skin to skin in the hospital after birth or in the NICU who would be willing to be interviewed about their experiences. Emma just finished her CPR Instructor Certification so she and Kathy, our Nurse Practitioner/IBCLC, will soon be doing CPR and Safety Training for businesses, daycares, and birth and baby providers. We'll also have classes and in-home private instruction for parents in the St. Louis area! Way to go Emma!

Let's face it- newborns can be hard to bath. Noone tells you that before you have a baby. But trust us, they are. They're squishy, slippery, and often not very cooperative, no matter how many times you try to explain that you're just trying to clean the poop off of them! Never fear, Kathy Loughren, Neonatal Nurse Practioner, Lactation Consultant, and Co-Owner of Parenting Resources, is here to help. Before baby arrives, it's a great idea to get familiar with how to bathe a newborn so you're set and ready to roll when the dreaded diaper blow out happens!

We have a few spots left for our 8 week Play & Learn Preschool Summer Camp! Last year we had a blast and many of the kids are still buddies! We focus on tons of play, being outdoors, nature, singing, dancing, art, music, and getting bite-sized exposures to what preschool will be like! Kids who get free lunches at school don't stop needing them once school is out. This meal is vitality important for their health and growth. Huge thanks to St. Louis County Library, who will be providing free kids' lunches at select locations this summer.

Kate is out enjoying her time at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Eureka this weekend but we ARE open Saturday and Sunday 9-1. We are, however, closed for Memorial Day on Monday. Come play with us this weekend!!

YoYo Yoga School is in the house here at PR Friday through Sunday, teaching folks how to help kids with the power of yoga! We're closed these days, however, there is free kids yoga throughout the weekend. Pre-registration is required to hold your child's spot.

Have you ever wondered if your kiddo might like yoga? How does a free yoga class sound? Yoyo Yoga School is holding free classes Saturday and Sunday here at Parenting Resources. You do need to register to hold your child's spot, so be sure to do so before space run outs.

We always look forward to Wednesday afternoons, when we have our weekly Circle of Moms group at 1pm. For 4 years we've had a weekly, totally free support group for Moms. We talk about everything from birth to postpartum adjustment to parenting kiddos. It's always free and always drop in- no need to RSVP. We have comfy seating, feeding pillows, carriers you can use while you're here, free coffee or tea, and extra diapers and wipes if you need them. There are plenty of toys and activities for babies through preschoolers to keep them entertained while you relax. Whether you're rocking this Momhood thing, feel like you're struggling, or somewhere in between, Circle of Moms is here for you! We also meet on Saturdays at 11, with the exception of this weekend, as we're closed for a training.

Nothing is more heart melting than when a 4 year old club member, who has been coming here since babyhood, picks flowers and grasses from his own yard to bring to you. Thanks, little buddy!

A fun and chill day here at Parenting Resources. Spring is finally REALLY here, so we relaxed in the children's garden, painted on the outdoor easel (some paint *may* have been eaten), played in dirt, ran, laughed, danced, played with puppies, and then hung out during our free weekly Mom's group, Circle of Moms. This is the way hump day should always be.

It's official- the first LimeBike in front of our office! It's getting a lot of attention!

Well, we're still without power and the company will only tell us that they'll be here sometime before 3 :( It's 50 degrees inside the center, so we are going to close until they come out. *Update- it's now officially teeth chattering in here so as of noon, we'll be closed for the afternoon.*. Our power is out. :( We will still run Yoga this morning (dress warm!) but if the power company has not come out by lunch, we will have to close for the afternoon, as the temperature is dropping quickly inside. We will update this post at lunchtime.
