Northwest R-I, along with other Jefferson County, Missouri school districts, recently held Covid-19 vaccination clinics. Several Northwest staff members share why getting the Covid-19 vaccine is important to them.
Murphy Elementary special education teacher Staci Venatta was recognized as a finalist in the 2021 Back to School School Superhero contest by Jennifer Brody of the Disability Resource Association. The Northwest Lions face the Oakville Tigers in high school football action on Oct. 23 in Cedar Hill, Mo.
A big thank you goes out to the organizers of the Jimmy Smooth Rat Rod event at Skullbones Camp in Cedar Hill. At last night’s Board of Education meeting, they donated $2,000 to go toward student lunch debt at Northwest. A big thank you goes out to Hoofprints on My Heart, who also donated $500 toward the lunch debt, plus $1000 to start the Jimmy Smooth Technical School scholarship for Northwest students.

OnLionEdu students and teachers got in on the fun with Spirit Week! The themes were Country vs. Country Club, Spirit Day, Sports Day, Superhero Day, and Tacky Tourist Day. We couldn't include them all, but here are some of our favorites!
Several students at Cedar Springs Elementary participated in a video this morning, highlighting our School Resource Officers for a project by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Thanks to our S.R.O. Deputy Christina Boxx and Deputy Andrew Dennis for all they do for our students, district, and community!
Who's up for a Homecoming Parade? While we can't gather in large groups on the streets as floats drive by due to Covid-19, we CAN stay in our cars and drive by the floats in the lower parking lot at Northwest High School for a REVERSE Homecoming Parade! Join us on Saturday, Oct. 10 between 5 and 7 p.m. and celebrate your Lion Pride!
