Missouri Wolverines Youth Flag Football

Hello athletes and parents, a few small tips I, Coach K wanted to help us all with. Football is a great sport and is played at the mixing part of the seasons. We are the only sport that tends to see the extremes of two weather seasons. With that we have to protect ourselves due to the severity of the risk involved. As we play in the heat of the day on Saturdays. It's a huge difference from what we see at practice throughout the week at night. So I cant stress enough on the p...arents to be sure that the athletes are staying well hydrated. Heat injuries are very severe injuries and can happen even when not at play ( standing on the sidelines). We need to keep an eye on this risk and work at preventing it by taking small steps daily. Water and sport drinks are good during the games but are not the key to staying well hydrated. We have to start out with the night before to be ready for the next days events. The night before the games we need to be well rested, drinking water or sport drink is fine but must stay on a 2/1 level (2oz/1oz) Protect against sunburn Drink plenty of fluids******** Take extra precautions with certain medications And we need to make sure we continue to get acclimated to this part of the season. Congratulations Missouri Wolverines Flag players on a great 2019 season!

Huge shoutout to the Missouri Wolverines Flag Program and most of all ... our great coaches. Coach Martin, Coach Maxwell, Coach Allumbaugh, Coach Sizemore did a...n amazing job this past season with both Flag Teams. Today our Flag Blue played in the MYFL - Metro League City Championship game taking 2nd place losing 23-18 to a team they lost too earlier in the year 22-00. Improvement and the kids played a heck of game... yes we lost however these kids improved throughout the year and ended the year with our best finish to date in this league. Our Flag White squad ended their season going 6-0 and undefeated. A great year for our Flag Program and a huge thank you to Anthony Martin for heading up our Flag Program this year.

I can’t tell you how proud I am of all the flag players today, they all played their hearts out and it really showed. What a way to spend our Saturday in the rain Flag White with a 28-13 win over the Dark Knights Flag Blue with a 27-0 win over the Dark Knights. KEEP UP THE HARD WORK BOYS!!
