REMINDER: Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday! On Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Manchester Police Department will join with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and community groups to provide you with a safe and legal way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications. This fall, residents can also dispose of vape pens and e-cigarette devices. Bring them to the collection site which is located at 200 Highlands Blvd. A mask...ed officer will be waiting, so you do not have to get out of you vehicle. During this initiative, prescription and over-the-counter solid-dosage medications (i.e. tablets and capsules) will be accepted. Electronic smoking devices will be accepted only after the batteries are removed from the devices. The DEA and its partners are NOT responsible for removing the batteries from the devices, and there is no battery disposal at the take-back event. If the battery cannot be removed, residents can check with large electronics stores, who may accept the vape pen and e-cigarette devices for proper disposal. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine will not be accepted. Intravenous solutions, injectables, needles, hydrogen peroxide, compressed cylinders (asthma inhalers, for example), iodine-containing medications and thermometers will also not be accepted. To protect your privacy, you can use a marker to blacken out your personal information on the labels, if you are unable to peel them off, prior to turning them in. For more information, please call the Manchester Police Department at 636-227-1410 x102. #drugtakeback See more

We've seen a few fraud cases lately where the victim is informed their social security number or Apple ID has been compromised. The scammer requires gift cards to clear up the mess. Remember, the U.S. government or any reputable business will not request gift cards for payment to clear up an issue with ID numbers.
