A beautiful day for Dashing Through Defiance 5k!

A little bit about this photo. My dad has early stages of dementia. Fortunately, he can still live on his own and cook, he just can no longer drive. He is a very social person, so he really misses his friends. Luckily, I am blessed to be self-employed and I am able to do the weekly grocery store visits, doc appts, etc. This year I wanted to make his 77th birthday a bit more special so I asked friends of his and my friends on Facebook to send a birthday card. He got over 90 ca...rds and some homemade cookies from a dear friend. This morning I am heading over to his apartment to sneak this, some cupcakes and this poster in the activities room, sneak all the cards I can in his mailbox and leave the rest in a box below and then when we get back from lunch, few of his neighbors will sing (at a distance) happy birthday.
