Brittany Gray joined our H-J Family just over a year ago as an mechanical engineer. Over the last year she has gotten to work on product development, testing, and manufacturing projects which has allowed her to gain a wealth of experience in both the electrical and manufacturing fields. Brittany enjoys the challenges and learning opportunities she experiences here at H-J as well as interacting with the H-J Family. Brittany and her boyfriend Ron recently bought a house in Sout...h City, St. Louis where they added Charlie, a Shiba Inu, to the family; however, their two cats are questioning the new addition. Ron and Brittany love to go hiking, try new food, cook together, and travel. She plans to visit her mom and sister who live in Florida in May where they plan on renting a house in the keys for a week for a girl’s trip! Brittany has always had good luck, she recalls winning an all-expense paid trip for two including two tickets to the red carpet premier of Hangover Part 3 in LA, in addition, she won tickets from H-J to the Billie Eilish concert that unfortunately got cancelled due to COVID. She looks forward to attending concerts again when COVID lightens up. Brittany enjoys being spontaneous and trying new things and is known around work for her friendly smile, eagerness to learn, and being a great team player. Summary: Daily duties will include multiple hand operations preparing components for production, finishing products coming off the molding presses, and ensuring the highest level of quality of all part...s produced. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Keep up with production paperwork (work orders) Enter information into computer Prepare components for molding Inspect components prior to molding Load components and mold pieces into the molding press Start and monitor the molding cycle Unload parts from the press when molding is complete Inspect, de-flash, and patch the molded parts Pack and apply labels to the molded parts Other tasks as needed in the production department POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent Production experience a plus Some computer skills needed Attention to detail and organizational skills needed Visit www.h-j.com to find out more about the HJ Family of Companies!

Groundhog day was first celebrated on February 2, 1887 at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. It was the idea of local newspaper editor Clymer Freas, who sold a group of businessmen and groundhog hunters on the idea. Today, the yearly festivities in Punxsutawney are presided over by a group known as the Inner Circle. Its members wear top hats and conduct the official proceedings in the Pennsylvania Dutch dialect. According to tradition, if a groundhog comes out of its hole on this day and sees its shadow, it gets scared and runs back into its burrow, predicting six more weeks of winter weather; no shadow means an early spring. Matt Fisch started with H-J over Twelve years ago having joined our H-J Family in the purchasing department after having been in purchasing for most of his adult life. Matt started out in the United States Navy keeping track of inventory as part of the Supply Department on board the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). His responsibilities included managing a part of the overall inventory on-board ship in support of ship and air wing operations. After the Navy he was in procurement and ...other positions for several companies then decided he wanted to get back into purchasing and interviewed with H-J in 2008. H-J and Matt ended up being the perfect fit and Matt has referred to H-J as an exceptional company to work for. He mentioned that every employee is held to the highest regard, with all the small benefits such as the Christmas gift every year to the employee appreciation events such as the company BBQ and catfish fry, which are his favorites by the way. H-J truly represent his other family. Matt enjoys the family feel and the challenging work atmosphere, it’s a constantly changing and high pace place to work, never a dull moment. For a relaxing change of pace Matt enjoys camping with his wife. They love to take weekend trips to Missouri State Parks, camping, floating the river and hiking new trails, their favorite being Washington Sate Park. Matt and his wife enjoy this time together getting away, their kids have all grown up and their dogs Jake and Chico prefer to camp out on the couch in their old age. They also love to explore St. Louis, trying new restaurants and Matt enjoys staying active by playing golf and tennis. He’s really looking forward to participating in H-J golfing events again when COVID lightens up.
