Meet The Fort Osage Fire Protection District District of Buckner, Missouri. The department has 31 members and responds to nearly 2,000 calls a year. As a 2020 g...rant recipient, we gifted them a Forcible Entry Door Simulator with a Cutting Station for Fort Osage personnel to train more effectively and frequently. Not only [will this prop] be used for regular monthly training it also [will] make it possible to further knowledge on commercial door jams and entry points. Although we don't have a major commercial base we do provide protection to Fort Osage School District which includes at minimum 10 commercial structured buildings, two wastewater treatment facilities that handle wastewater for the Kansas City metropolitan area, one lumber treatment facility owned by Great Southern Lumber, two drinking water treatment plants and twenty-three (23) churches, they wrote to us in their grant application. Our personnel are ecstatic and very anxious to use it. #BraveEveryday See more
We are proud to share the names of our 2020 grant recipients. All the departments that applied were more than deserving and we hope to be able to help even more... applicants this coming year. Our 2020 grant cycle allowed us to fulfill 25 grants, helping departments across the country. We were able to turn the donations we received throughout the year into physical equipment and training within two months after the cycle ended in mid-November. Thank you to all those who donated. As you can see, you've made a significant impact in the firefighter community. Our 2021 cycle is now accepting applications. To apply, please submit a letter of inquiry by 8/15 on our website. Share this post to spread awareness so that together we can help more departments in 2021. #BraveEveryday https://learyfirefighters.org/

It's Fire Prevention Week!! This year’s campaign is Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen! According to NFPA, cooking is the leading cause of home fires and home fire injuries in the United States. Almost half (44%) of reported home fires started in the kitchen. Two-thirds (66%) of home cooking fires start with the ignition of food or other cooking materials. #FirePreventionWeek2020 For more safety tips visit: http://www.nfpa.org/fpw
