You’ve hopefully heard that ESA has their annual elections tonight. Our awesome president, Phil Luecking, is stepping down after two years of hard work and dedication to ESA. He put in countless volunteer hours to better the program! We want to publicly thank Phil for all that he has done for ESA!! In Phil’s two year term, he has accomplished a great deal. Here are a few of the highlights... Baseball and softball moved to STLWEST... A soccer season was played on the turf fields There are now lights at the baseball fields We increased players in both of our programs Phil guided the ESA Board during unprecedented times (flash floods and a pandemic!) as we had to make some difficult and stressful decisions. He did so with grace, humility, and perseverance. Thank you Phil for your wonderful leadership, vision, patience, kindness, dedication and hard work!!

We are reaching out to encourage you to get involved in the Eureka Sports Association. The purpose of ESA is: -To administer organized youth sports in the City of Eureka, MO, for all Eureka residents and residents of the surrounding communities; -To develop sportsmanship among all players for the betterment of their emotional and social well being; ... -To teach the fundamental skills required for all sports administered by ESA; -To provide positive adult role models at all age levels; -To facilitate the coordination of ESA activities with allied community groups that administer and/or support athletic programs {e.g. Parks and Recreation Dept., Board of Education, Religious and other Community Organizations} to foster the growth of the community In order to achieve the above, we need volunteers. ESA Families, I am writing to inform you that the STLWEST league has made the decision that the remainder of the 2020 baseball/softball season will no longer continue, effective today. I assure you this is far from what any of the associations wanted to occur and the league has worked hard along the way to try to have games for our teams. However, it is not feasible to continue the season with the uncertainty of if/when games will be able to be played and in a manner that is ...safe and rewarding for our players and their families. We sincerely appreciate your patience and support of ESA and commitment to your players this year, which has been challenging in so many ways for everyone. We all look forward to and hope for a significantly better year in 2021!! ESA will provide a separate communication regarding options and details related to registration fees within the next week. ESA Players, Coaches & Families After much discussion regarding the upcoming soccer season, the ESA board voted on August 11 to cancel the ESA Fall 2020 soccer season for both our WCSL and Little Kickers programs. While this was not the ideal or most desirable decision, it is one made with no shortage of considerations and sincerity for the best interest of our ESA players, families and larger community. The safety and well-being of our players, families and community is of u...tmost importance and while we wish we could all be playing soccer this fall, it simply isn't feasible at this time. Though we had hoped that conditions would change to make playing games in St. Louis County a safe and viable option that would result in a positive and memorable experience for our players, regrettably ESA is not able to ensure that at this time. We look forward to an amazing and rewarding season next year and hope that all remain safe and well during these times. Best Regards ESA Board of Directors

Due to the new St Louis County Youth Sports Guidelines, all league games are prohibited for an indefinite period of time effective Monday, July 20, 2020. Teams may continue to practice if guidelines are followed. STLWEST and the ESA board will be meeting in the next few days to determine a course of action going forward. Parents/guardians should contact their coaches regarding practices and team activities....
