O God, by whose mercy the faithful departed find rest, look kindly on your departed veterans who gave their lives in the service of their country. Grant that through the passion, death, and resurrection of your son they may share in the joy of your heavenly kingdom and rejoice in you with your saints forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Today's gospel from Matthew reminds us the greatest commandment is to love God with our whole heart, mind, and soul. It is always a challenge to love completely. Loving our neighbor can be even harder. But if we remember that God has put a little of Himself in each of us...loving our neighbor is also loving God. Let's practice loving each other this week.
