Boonville Community Foundation 02.01.2021

The Boonville Community Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients for the 2019 grant cycle from the Boonville Community Foundation Legacy Fund. The Legacy Fund is a community-granting fund of the Boonville Community Foundation for the purpose of funding charitable needs in Boonville, MO. This was the fifth year that these grants were available. A total of $13,000 was awarded to local non-profit organizations. The Boonslick Senior Center, the $2,000 grant will improve... the building and reduce energy cost by adding energy efficient window tinting to the windows. The energy savings will stay in the center’s budget and be used to continue their services. Bethel Purim Ministries, the $500 grant provides shelter services for victims of domestic violence. CMCA Clubhouse Head Start, Central Missouri Community Action HeadStart, the $1,500 grant will go towards the purchase of a Music Playground. Installingmusical equipment for the playground will provide unstructured play that gives children the opportunity to explore, discover, experience, learn, and develop their imaginations. Hannah Cole Primary School, the $2,500 grant will bring Jesse Ruben and his We Can Project to Thespian Hall for our students. Through song and inspirational stories Jesse motivates all ages to realize that you can do anything by working hard and having a positive attitude. Riley Equine Center- Therapeutic Riding Center, the $1,500 grant will help fund a course that will deal with bullying. Using the horseswe will show students how to incorporate and enforce healthy boundaries that will enable them to deal with bullying and make safe relationships. Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri Buddy Packs, the $1,000 grant will help provide Buddy Packs to 226 food insecure children at six elementary schools in Cooper County. OATS Transit/Katy Flyer, the $2,500 grant will be used as capital funding for a portion of the local match needed for one new ADA accessible bus for the Katy Flyer service in Boonville. Friends of Storybrook Farms, the $1,500 grant provides Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning to active duty military, veterans and their families.
