A couple weeks ago we showed you some shades we had hanging in the shop. We were still prepping them for install so they weren't quite done yet... ...but now we can share them with you in their full glory! We love how the embroidered flowers bring a breath of color and life to a neutral kitchen space. ... The custom bench cushion and pillows seen below the new shade were also made by us. The whole nook is now a comfortable and inviting spot. A hot cup of tea would be best enjoyed here with family and friends gathered round! Weave Gotcha Covered! is proud to introduce you to another employee this week; Mollie! She is a jack-of-all trades and helps out with a variety of daily shop operations. "This week," she says, "I learned some of the beginning steps for ordering hardware, I quality checked fabric for some of our new projects, and I helped with writing proposals that will be sent out to clients." Mollie came to us through her lifelong friend Alli, who is Kelly's daughter. She says, "I’ve follow...ed WGC’s story from the very beginning in their basement. I have always thought it would be a great place to work, but I didn’t have any experience in this field. All the same, when Alli told me that they were looking for someone to help out around the shop, I jumped at the opportunity." Mollie says she feels lucky to have friendships, like the one she has with Alli, that have spanned decades. She finds comfort in knowing there will always be people there for her through thick and thin. Family is another important part of her and her husband Snapp's lives. "We’re very close with our families and try to find time to spend with them (recently, from a distance) whenever we can." She says Snapp is "an incredible husband" and together they have a 14 year old cat named Sonja. Outside of time with loved ones Mollie says she isn't the best at having many hobbies. "I’ll do things for a while (like gardening or drawing), but at some point I usually get bored with whatever it is and move on to something else (my garden is very, very dead now, but my stick figures are immaculate)." "Ultimately, my goal is just to be happy and so far that is working out wonderfully," says Mollie. She lives by the belief that if something is worth doing it is worth doing right. "Cleaning toilets? Make ‘em sparkle. Baking a cake? Make it with love. Feel like dancing? Dance your heart out." It is that commitment to excellence that led her to be one of the first people to graduate from Johnson County Community College with distinguished honors. Mollie's dedicated approach to her work and her upbeat positivity bring a joy and light to the shop that we are all too happy to have! She is already an invaluable member of our team so join us today in celebrating her. Right now it seems we could all use a little more comfort in our lives. One of the best ways to do that is cozy-ing up under a big blanket on a crisp evening. This week we want to introduce you to Michelle, like many of our employees she wears many hats! However, her job is unique because she works in the WGC! office and the office of our sister company Sacred Stitches. She jokes her job title is "Whatever is needed!" and has helped both companies in different capacities since joining the team. Michelle came to us through her daughter Raychel, our Digital Marketing Manager. In Fall of 2019 Kelly and Michelle met to discuss a possib...le position but the timing wasn't quite right. "Fast forward to May ‘20 when my job was affected by Covid cuts," she says, "and Kelly was ready to bring me on full-time." "I do feel like this is where I’m supposed to be right now," says Michelle. She adds that working for WGC! is allowing her to have a period of self discovery. "I’ll be a perpetual student whenever and wherever I can," she says, "God willing, you’ll find me as the grey-haired lady auditing a class on campus at age 90." She enjoys expanding her knowledge and recently completed a class that included welding. "That’s been on the bucket list for awhile," she says. Michelle believes that being open to new ideas is key to keeping vitality in life. Spending time being creative just for the fun of it is an important happy time activity for her. She says she enjoys crafting projects for her home or with her grand-kids. My family is my solid ground," she says, "most of us are in Missouri somewhere and we love to all get together when we can." Friends, travel and adventure are also meaningful to her. She jokes, "If you need a partner in crime, I’m game! I mean that figuratively, of course. Like if you want to go somewhere and do something and your friends are being lame! Nothing with potential jail time. I don’t look good in horizontal stripes." We are happy to have Michelle as a new addition to our Weave Gotcha Covered family. Her adventurous and open attitude make her a great fit for the philosophy of our company!
