Seeing this lovely friend and client always makes my heart happy! Thank you Gabrielle for your positive energy, love and support. We designed this Custom Leaf Print Dress a couple seasons ago but it is still fun and fresh! Love the voluminous sleeves and cuffs on it. A great dress with just the right amount of swing for outdoor weddings and parties.

Lately, life has started to resume a faster pace, projects are getting started and meetings with clients and friends are happening. My cup is filling up and it feels so wonderful. It reminds me why I love to design. Collaborating with people is at the heart of what I do and without that connection life just falls flat. This month I've had the absolute honor to create with so many people. This book is a reminder of my friendship with @weareoliviafox (a gift from them). A cou...ple weeks ago we had the most magical warrior photoshoot for OLIVIA FOX shot by @iamchrismullins with incredible jewelry and accessories by @annmanndesigns and @nganvuongdesigns. Last Friday was our first SHOP COLLECTIVE event and getting to know @meritmade, @milkandcookiesvintage, @terracotta.kc, @story__school, @lauratreas and @2sdesignhouse during the planning for it has been such a joy! All these women have so much talent and cool businesses. Over a quick Facetime chat to see styles and fabric options, she decided on this colorful vintage floral chiffon for a breezy Verano Top, which works both belted or open. *Exciting News!* I now have Pattern Design Software from @stylecad_usa. Loving the system and how it feels akin to traditional pattern making methods on paper. I’ve been learning the system for the past two months and still have plenty to master but it’s been the best decision I’ve made for so many reasons! Designer friends, I definitely recommend this software, it is game-changing.

Your environment and personal space has a huge effect on your mood, energy and productivity. For me, getting the studio organized this summer has been so wonderful and has provided some much needed serenity during this crazy time. The first task was to organize all the fabric and create a database with everything in stock. This was a huge task! Now I have a swatch book with all the fabric swatches and inventory amounts. The fabrics were rolled on tubes and stored neatly on the shelves & under the cutting table. I also donated unused remnants to @scrapskc. Looking forward to the future when we'll be able to have open studios and gatherings again. Until then, having a space of our own where we can think and create in a calm manner is just what we all need. , Sarah

Now and Then / A very early digitally printed dress design from 2010 a fitted, paneled dress with chain straps remade for 2020 in "wild feathers." I made the black and white version to wear to an event just a few months ago. That was probably the last "large gathering" I had attended. What a world of change we have seen since. A decade has gone by and thinking back to the reasons I felt the yearning to design and hoping to reconnect to those feelings once again.
