We had another great surprise from another board member who dropped off a box of cookies! Thank you so much Frank Stuermann! We love the surprises!
Our last virtual Merry Christmas goes to our Board of Directors and the Community for the continued support over the last 26 years. We have been so fortunate to have the best past and present Board Members. They volunteer their time and extend kindness and generosity all while being fiscally responsible and committed to having the BEST dispatch Center possible. With their leadership and guidance we would not be where we are today. To the community, thank you for trusting u...s. Your support keeps us going. We are committed to helping others, so thank you for allowing us to do what we love. Have a VERY Merry Christmas! -The Team #DispatchLife #FirstFirstResponders #WCECC2020 #ThinGoldLine
What a wonderful surprise from one of our Board members. Thank you, Martha Groeper! #MerryChristmasEve
Thank you to The Church of the Nazarene and Pastor Joe for the food today! It is greatly appreciated.
One thing is for certain, COVID-19 had everyone thinking outside the box when it came to keeping your distance from one another. We have one employee that is able to work from home to minimize her exposure to germs. We miss you like CRAZY, Nancy! We want to let you know that we think about you every single day and we want to wish you a VERY Merry Christmas. You are always on our minds and in our hearts. Keep up the strong work at home, you are doing awesome! Love you! - The Team and The Board of Directors
Hermann area CenturyLink landline customers may be having problems calling 911. Please use our administrative number 636-456-7088 or 800-237-9020.
How awesome is this?!
Radio Communications is CRUCIAL in our industry. Dispatchers communicate with Emergency Responders over a two way radio. Once a call is received via 911 or Administrative lines, the dispatcher will dispatch the emergency (or non-emergency) call over the radio. After the call is dispatched, the dispatcher stays in contact with the Responder(s) in this manner until the call is complete. Currently, we use a countywide VHF Simulcast Radio System. This system went online ...with two tower sites in 1996 and was expanded to include six additional tower sites and a microwave component that ties the sites together to help boost a better, stronger radio system in 2008. This system serves 11 user agencies throughout the county and collectively these agencies employ over 300 First Responders and support personnel. In September the County Commission awarded the 11 user agencies CARES ACT funding to update and replace radio communications for our First Responders. This update will replace the VHF mechanism to a P25 digital platform. The 911 Center maintains the eight towers to include upkeep at each tower site. Each tower site utilizes a backup generator and houses radio communication equipment dedicated to that site. Dispatch is responsible for electric to each site, generator maintenance, pest, weed control, and general tower maintenance. We generally budget around $20,000 each year just for Electric for the tower sites. #WCECC2020 #MicClicksForDays #dispatchlife #FirstRepondersRock
