The Lebanon area will remain under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m. Thursday. The primary roads are in decent shape but some of lesser traveled streets do have some icy patches. Salt does not work very well melting ice when temperatures drop below 20 degrees - especially on lesser-traveled roads - which adds to the difficulty of keeping roadways clear. Our street department will continue to monitor conditions and do what we can. Our priority will be the primary roadways. If you do not have to be out and about its best to stay home.

Lebanon Public Works is making a water main repair on Willow Street. The road will be closed at the location of the repair, so we are asking that residents find an alternate route for the next few hours. Residents may also experience low water pressure, or no water, from 1 to 3 p.m. today. If you live in this area please prepare in advance.

Meet Danny Sheets. Danny has worked for the City of Lebanon for a little more than a year as a fleet technician in the city garage. Danny enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, tractor pulling and working on the farm. Danny's favorite place to eat in Lebanon is Applebee's. Danny says what he loves most about his job is the opportunity to do something different every day and getting to work with some "good people."... Danny is an appreciated member of #TeamLebanonMO! #WorkForceWednesdays #WeAreLebanonMO #CityofLebanonMO

A dusting of snow and ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The Lebanon Street Department is on standby and ready to respond as needed.

The Lebanon City Council meets at 6 p.m. tonight and it looks like Okie wants to join the meeting. Last year, Okie tried to amend the agenda and ask council to place a hot chocolate fountain downtown. As much as everyone would LOVE a hot chocolate fountain, logistically, we just couldn't make it happen. Sorry, Okie - make our request known to Santa! #OkietheCityElf

No, Okie, you can't stay in the model Gasconade Hotel in the lobby of the City Hall Municipal Court/Council Chambers! We are glad you appreciate the display but it's not for elf use. Speaking of the display, if you haven't viewed it, you should really check it out. The historic Gasconade Hotel was located where Gasconade Park is now. The hotel was the location of Lebanon's "magnetic waters" that people traveled from all around to experience. The hotel was one of the finest around in its time, but was lost to a fire in 1899.

While we do not expect hazardous road conditions from the snow flurries today, we do have staff monitoring conditions and ready to respond if needed. Please be careful and stay safe.

If you have been around a person who has COVID-19, Laclede County Health Department staff may call to let you know you’ve been exposed and ask you to stay at home away from others and self-quarantine. Doing so helps protect you, your family, and your community. Be part of the solution and help slow the spread of COVID-19. https://bit.ly/2ZkyWjJ
