Well, it looks as if Greed trumps Pride - the building that once housed Kansas City's iconic Jewel Box Lounge and all the contiguous buildings in the block are in the process of being demolished to make way for Troost Village (http://www.pendulumkc.com/troost-village). A PREDOMINANTLY LESBIAN BAR FROM THE 1980s, Billie Jean's was located on Main Street just south of 50th. Exceedingly popular, it had a groovy light-up dance floor among other amenities.
