Yellow patch activity on new greens in western Kentucky. The weather pattern in the transition zone over the next several weeks is also very favorable for the development of Microdochium patch. This may be the year to consider applying fungicide to suppress activity of these two pathogens.

I have received two samples exhibiting symptoms of leaf and sheath spot. One sample was from southern MI and one was from central IN. The disease is favored by extended period of temperatures above 90 F.

Heavy burden of root knot nematode observed on 2 courses in MO. On a course in St Louis area, problem was presenting as patches of chlorotic turf on the putting surface. On the other course in central MO, the symptoms were slightly chlorotic, wilty patches.

Observed active brown ring patch on Poa in central Missouri today. This is a presumptive diagnosis based on prevailing environmental conditions and the fact that the bentgrass is not affected.
