As promised, we have more footage of the hat parade that our 4th - 8th grade students put on for our school/parents a few weeks ago. They created replica hats from historical times by using newspaper and cardboard. Their coordinating costumes were loaned to us by Crossroads. Our students, especially our younger students felt like it was New York Fashion Week! This was such a fun afternoon here at TSMSOC! We want to give a big shoutout to our Studio Art teacher, Ms. Eppert for creating such a unique art project that our whole community was able to enjoy.
Last night we celebrated our Class of 2021! We loved being able to safely gather and wish our students the best of luck in their next adventure. Please come back to visit us, our door is always open! Congratulations!!
Today was a good day at TSMSOC! Our 4th - 8th grade students put on a historical hat parade for our school and parents. They studied the history of hats and then each chose a hat to replicate out of newspaper and cardboard. We are extremely impressed with the attention to detail and the coordinating costumes! We have a lot more footage to share on the event today but for now we will leave you with a few photos!
Warning! This content is not for those who are squeamish. Our 4th graders were tasked with dissecting the of a . This is an extremely hands on learning experience but the class thrived. Ms. Jenny would navigate on the screen and the students would mimic what they learned.... This is one of the best things we do at TSMSOC is learn through direct experiences. These 4th graders now know all the parts of the eye but more importantly they understand what those parts do and how they work together. You might say this was a very eye opening experience for them.
Our 5th graders have been working with their geoboards to learn more about the shapes used in geometry. They created their own individual boards using peg boards and screws. This is such a fun, clever and interactive way to learn about geometry!
