Help make sure everyone can vote today. Call the hotline if there are problems and check out Curbside KC if you know of a polling place with an extremely long line - they have water and snacks and want to hear from you if you know of waiting voters who need them.

Kansas City polls are open until 7 p.m. and it's a beautiful day to go vote. RideKC can give you a free ride to the poll if you need one, or message us and a neighbor can get you there. If you have questions or need assistance with voting, review the information from the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners and contact them with questions.

Important info in the post from Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners on mail in ballots and returning absentee ballots if you requested one and still need to send it in. Also, if you intend to vote absentee in person, there is still time - but you can only do it at Union Station on Saturday, Oct. 31 and Monday, Nov. 2. If you plan to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 3, plan to do so in person at your assigned polling place. If you're registered with a Troostwood address, that sho...uld be at Paseo High School. Contact the election board with questions or check their website for details.

Update: Dexter was found! Thanks everyone! Neighbors, please look out for this cat. He belongs to a student living in Troostwood and got out tonight. With the weather getting colder and maybe snowy, the owner is quite concerned. The cat's name is Dexter and you should see a Pittsburgh Steelers collar on him with a tag that has an address and phone number. If you find Dexter, please help him get home. Thank you!

KC Royals Foundation in partnership with UNI (Urban Neighborhood Initiative) is providing Thanksgiving meals for those in our community where there is a need. If you need assistance or if you know of someone in our neighborhood, family or individual, who would like more information, please email us at [email protected] before Oct. 27. These meals would feed a family of four and would be available for pick up the Monday before Thanksgiving. Again, we need to know by this Tuesday, Oct. 27, if you need a meal.

Today started with worry for an elderly neighbor who wasn’t answering the phone. We called multiple times, knocked on windows and doors, even called 911! Finally, our neighbor Mr. Kenny came out of the house. We were relieved but took advantage of the moment to insist we take his tall bushes down for safety. I had to use my mamma voice! Neighbors helping neighbors is a beautiful thing! All of our scheduled activities were shot but we left with sweaty bodies and happy hearts! Thanks goes out to Bill, Travis and Deanna and Matthew who is a RU student!
