3 Chinese Reflexology Points to Boost Your Energy If you feel tired all the time, whether it’s from general malaise, stress or a chronic condition such as hypothyroidism, adrenal exhaustion or chronic fatigue, here are 3 Chinese Reflexology points that can help bring your body back into balance and boost your energy levels. Reflexology for Fatigue... A couple of weeks ago, I taught a workshop at Google on Finding Balance Through Your Soles and Your Soul. At the beginning of the workshop, I asked participants to raise their hands if they experienced moderate to extreme stress in their lives. Every hand shot up in the air. In the workshop, I taught Chinese Reflexology points to help rebalance the body after chronic stress. Then, I invited participants to hop onto the massage table to experience what it felt like to have their feet massaged with a reflexology stick. Almost everyone in the room wanted to have a try. It was interesting to massage so many different feet one after another. With the exception of a couple of people, everybody had extremely sensitive points. This told me a lot about how much stress was affecting these people. Stress takes its toll on the body, weakens the immune system, negatively affects emotions and also depletes the body’s life force energy. Having worked in high tech myself for over a decade, I knew exactly what these Googlers were experiencing.

trigger point noun plural noun: trigger points a particular circumstance or situation that causes an event to occur. "the army's refusal to withdraw from the territory was the trigger point for military action"... PHYSIOLOGYMEDICINE a sensitive area of the body, stimulation or irritation of which causes a specific effect in another part, especially a tender area in a muscle that causes generalized musculoskeletal pain when overstimulated. Trigger Points The inside of the body is covered with soft tissue called fascia. This tissue covers every structure including organs, muscles, nerves and blood vessels. The fascia that covers your muscles is call myofascia. When the myofascia is stressed from overuse or trauma it can tear and adhear together. These adhesions are called "trigger points" and can prevent the muscles from working well. Trigger points lead to an increase in muscle stiffness and tenderness and a decrease in range-of-motion. In addition, the discomfort from trigger points can radiate from the adhesion. This is called referral pain and the most common pathways are shown in this image.

Monday Massage after being a weekend Worrier? The Benefit of Massage with Exercise Professional athletes and their coaches have sworn by massage therapy for years, going so far as to keep massage therapists on the payroll indefinitely. Until recently, there hasn’t been conclusive evidence that massage really does have a positive effect on athletes. However, thanks to new studies and some backing by reputable sources, the benefits of massage are being taken seriously. A...nd those benefits are not just for the pros. They’re extended to anyone who participates in a regular exercise program. According to the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), massage acts to improve performance, reduce pain, prevent injury, encourage focus and shorten recovery time. It basically involves two types of responses: a mechanical response as a result of the pressure and movement and a reflex response where the nerves respond to the stimulation of a massage.
