Our team is the lifeblood of our shop. Our baristas share a love of coffee, but they also have a deep appreciation for the coffee experience. We asked Hannah about what it means to her to work behind the bar at the Ethic. I like to be in an environment where I can constantly learn and connect with others. I fought being a barista for so long. I was intimidated at the prospect of being roped into something over my head, but it turned out to be the best place for me to thrive. The environment behind the counter is nothing short of engaging in all aspects, and I’m lucky to be in the middle of it all!

As part of our commitment to #CupPeopleEarth, our goal has always been to leave the planet a little better than we found it. If it can be composted, recycled or reused, we compost, recycle or reuse it. Here are just a few of our sustainability practices: We send all of our coffee grinds to Urban Roots Farm to be used as compost. We bag all of our beans in compostable Biotr bags. We sanitize and reuse bottles for syrups. We perform regular maintenance on our machines ...to keep them working longer. All of our single-use cups are biodegradable. In partnership with MaMa Jean's Natural Market, we implemented the HuskeeCup Swap program in November 2019 to close the loop on single-use cups. Our approach to sustainability doesn't work without the support and cooperation of our community and partners. For all the ways you help us reduce, reuse, and recycle, thank you!

We went all in with the spices for our new Golden Chai, a balanced blend of Hugo Tea Company Masala Chai and steamed oat milk infused with ginger and turmeric. Pairs well with a warm pastry, conversations with good friends, and long drives through the Ozarks hills admiring the changing colors of Fall.

What a year, huh? In spite of the ups and downs of 2020 and in the spirit of the season, we're grateful to do what we love in a community that means the world to us. We're still in the process of cleaning and making repairs following last weekend's fireplease pardon our progressbut the good news is that we're planning to re-open this Saturday, November 28, just in time to kick off our annual anniversary countdown! Look for lots of discounts, giveaways, and opportunities to ...help others in the days to come. A couple of things to keep in mind for your next visit. Our drink menu will be limited to batch brew coffee, espresso drinks, and tea. We'll have whole bean coffee and lots of new merch available for purchase. We're unable to bake pastries right now, but we hope to be baking again soon. No indoor seating will be available for the time being. Hi, friends. We wanted to let you know that one of our appliances malfunctioned and caused a small fire yesterday morning. The good news is that no one was hurt, and the damage was minimal. The bad news is that it’s going to take a few days to clean and repair, so we’ll be closed until those tasks can be completed.... We hope to be up and running again soon. Thank you for your support and understanding.
