Save the Date: #GivingTuesday is December 1! We’re proud to be a part of this global celebration of giving.
During this season of gratitude, we want to express our thanks to dedicated employees, supportive families and generous donors.
Happy Veteran's Day! Thank you to everyone in our community, including our employees, who have sacrificed and served. At the Center, we serve injured veterans through our Independence Program, a community-based program for veterans who have experienced a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury or other neurological condition while serving in the military since September 11, 2001. The goal of the Independence Program is to assist the veteran in improving physical, social, recreational, cognitive, emotional functioning in the home and community.
Board Member Spotlight! After attending a few events (including trivia nights) for the Center, Jennifer Koenig got involved and became a board member. I love what we stand for and our overall mission, she continued we have helped so many people in the St. Louis area. It is a privilege to be associated with the organization. Jennifer mentioned how the Center’s outreach goes beyond individuals with head injuries. Personally, I came to find that I have many friends who... have been touched and benefited from the Center’s services. She currently serves as our Board Treasurer. The Cookies and Cream cupcakes are Jennifer’s first choice from Destination Desserts and her pup loves the Peanut Butter Bacon treats from Wags in a Bag. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys playing volleyball and golf with friends. Thank you, Jennifer, for your support! See more
Ron Glenn, Community Supports Manager at the Center, talks about how our program makes a real difference for people with developmental disabilities. We see people learn how to cook, how to manage finances and other skills to eventually live independently!
It is Election Day! We encourage everyone to make their voices heard. People with a disability often face obstacles or barriers to casting a ballot, but the ADA and other laws protect your right to vote and require accessibility/accommodations. Know your rights at the polls and go vote! https://www.npr.org//heading-to-the-polls-if-you-have-a-di
