Congratulations to David Young III We are very proud of David as he graduated from the American K9 Interdiction Training Center on November 9th, 2019. He spent 18 weeks in Virginia at AK9I learning how to train Canines in Personal Protection, Search and Rescue, Odor Detection (Narcotics, Explosives, Bed Bugs, etc.) , Puppy Development and Obedience. It is with great pleasure that we announce that David Young III will be heading up our training program. Stay tuned for mor...e information as we develop our training classes, one on one training, and board and train programs. David also spent 5 years in the United States Navy as a Master At Arms. He volunteered while he was stationed In Nebraska with the United States Air Force K9 handlers as a decoy (letting military working dogs bite him) while taking in as much information as possible. He also volunteered at the local Humane Society with training shelter dogs in hopes of finding them a forever home. Later he was stationed in Romania where people would consistently see him outside playing and training with the wild dogs, at one point the dogs would wait for him outside of the entrance until he came outside to play with them. David ultimately decided that he wanted to explore other options outside of the Navy to work with Canines.

Play time in the kennel runs Yesterday. Did we mention we have MORE space then any other kennel in the area? Our kennel runs are anywhere from 160-200 ft! With our standard kennel they get approximately 2 hours a day in our huge runs and with our Deluxe package they get 4 hours a day out in our kennel runs, and when they are done playing they can come inside and relax and come take a nap!

Kennel Assistant This position requires a strong love of pets and attention to detail.... The majority of time is spent keeping rooms and pet runs clean and sanitized; exercising, feeding and picking up after the pets; ensure needs of the boarding guests are being met and reporting on the pet's condition to management staff. This position requires a Flexible Schedule and AVAILABILITY ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. Must possess a good work ethic and work well with others. A genuine interest in pet care is a must. Our Kennel Attendants not only provide excellent care to our guests, they are also the reason our facilities sparkle and smell awesome. If you are uncomfortable scooping poop and cleaning up after pets - this job is not for you. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. The following shifts are available: Various shifts depending on business needs. DUTIES: Ensure food bins are stocked Provide water bowls and meals to animal guest three times daily, or as directed Provide meds to animal guests; mark and initial med book and door cards accordingly Clean and sanitize the work area immediately following feedings, including dishwashing and sanitizing counters, carts and applicable work areas Provide exercise to animal guests Clean and sanitize pet kennel areas, including removing pet waste, laundry, changing mop heads and buckets, vacuuming and emptying the central vac Clean outside runs, including grassy Obtain customer feedback information including special pet handling requirements Ensures pet's medical records are current, updated and noted on applicable door card Partner with facility manager to meet and exceed the customer's service expectations. QUALIFICATIONS: A keen instinct for animal safety, proper procedure and loving commitment for the pets. Ability to regularly stand for extended periods. Able to walk dogs of all sizes on a leash, ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
