St. Louis Children's Hospital 08.12.2020

St. Louis Children’s was featured on Today Show’s website for our caregivers’ dedication to spreading holiday cheer amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We are grateful for our team members, generous donors and community partners who make it possible to respond flexibly and creatively to the needs of our patients and our families. To have a national spotlight shown on our annual Love Light Festival, which brings such joy to those in our care, is a wonderful reflection of our mission of doing what’s right for kids. http://ow.ly/h82I50COp87

Another step closer. COVID-19 vaccines arrived early this morning and some of our caregivers will begin receiving theirs this week. It’s an historic win for science and we couldn’t be more excited!

We are excited to announce that BJC HealthCare will be among the first in the region to receive and administer the COVID-19 vaccine. Our healthcare heroes have been on the frontlines for months caring for those affected and this is an amazing step forward in the fight against the disease.

Before he was born, Rhett was diagnosed with myelomeningocele, a severe form of spina bifida. Our Fetal Care Center performed an innovative fetal surgery while ...he was still in his mother’s womb to repair the spina bifida defect, preventing further complications. Just over two years after this surgery, Rhett is doing amazing and recently visited the Fetal Care Center to say ‘hi’ and show off his progress. Learn more about spina bifida and the care we provide before birth: http://ow.ly/ncEu50Ce1Cc

Trick or Treat! Our kids dressed in costumes and were treated to special goodie bags during our "reverse" trick or treat event. Looks like they had a fa-BOO-lous time! #HappyHalloween

With so much information about COVID-19 at our fingertips, it’s sometimes hard to tell what’s reliable. We checked with two experts, Washington University infectious disease doctors who are helping lead BJC’s response to the pandemic. Clay Dunagan, MD, and Hilary Babcock, MD, MPH helped us sort fact from fiction about COVID-19.
