SSM Health DePaul Hospital has reached a sobering milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic with discharging 502 COVID-19 patients. Since the beginning of the pandemic, DePaul Hospital has been a leader in transformation and rising to the challenges of the pandemic. In support of SSM Health’s mission and values, SSM Health DePaul Hospital created a hospital discharge clinic to support healing and wellness for patients in our community lacking access to a primary care provider, said Dr. Sriram Vissa, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs for DePaul Hospital. With the unique challenges COVID-19 presented, we quickly adapted and offered Telemedicine visits for patients who had been hospitalized with COVID. We are committed to helping our patients achieve a full recovery from COVID-19.

We are proud to share that the City of St. Louis and the State of Missouri declare October as Infant Safe Sleep Awareness Month. The SSM Health Safe Sleep Champion Committee, represented by SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and the SSM Health birthing hospitals are collaborating to ensure that infants under the age of one year are sleeping safely in all of our ministries. In addition, the Champions ensure that our staff are educating our parents and caregivers on the most current evidenced-based safe sleep recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).
