OK Let's have some fun now. We are starting a new contest at STA. Watch for a new "Where in the world..." picture on the Facebook page and at the dojang. If you can figure out where in the world the student in the picture is located, you can help lead warmups in an upcoming class. No cheating by typing the answer in the comments section (I will just have to delete the answer). When you know the location of the student, tell the instructor when you arrive at the dojang for your class. He will put your name down on the list located on the mirrors. Then show up for class and you can lead warmups. We will start with Andrew. Where in the world is Andrew in this picture?

We finished the tournament with a match between Mr. Joseph Ndiba and Klayton. No blue belt student was hurt in the making of these pictures.

Due to the current weather pattern, we will be closed tonight, Wednesday, December 30. We were already planning to be closed for the rest of the week for the holidays. Be safe. Stay warm. Drive carefully. And we will see you in 2021!

Work out this week with Mr. Ndiba on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. We will be closed Thursday, December 31, through Saturday, January 2.

When Mr. William Ndiba was asked if he wanted to spar after the in school tournament, he readily agreed... until he discovered who he would be sparring against - Mr. Carter. The match started out with Mr. Ndiba trying to look Mr. Carter in the eye. And then things kind of took a turn to the weird side. Not sure where Mr. Carter learned some of those sparring moves. I'm sure some of them were quite illegal.

As many of you know, STA decided to adopt a family from Springfield, MO, this Christmas season in an effort to bring joy to our area and to Build a World a More Peaceful World. At the end of last week, some of our students and parents came together to wrap the gifts while enjoying spending time together and some yummy treats. It did my heart good to see how our school banded together to make sure a single mother with 4 kids had a wonderful Christmas. Not only did we get ...everything on their lists, but we made sure they had plenty of food not only for Christmas, but in the weeks leading up to it and many weeks after. Hannah, the Ndiba boys and I packed up everything for this family in our vehicles (it filled the back of my truck, the back of their SUV and I still needed to put things in the very back of the truck) and headed over to their house on a snowy Sunday afternoon to deliver the packages to them. To say the family was appreciative is a gross understatement. When the family saw the BOXES of goodies we were delivering, tears instantly came to their eyes - in fact there was not a dry eye in the room. With a year that has been in such upheaval as 2020 has been for most of us, it was such a blessing to be able to share some goodness in the world. So sit back and enjoy the pictures of our wrapping party (we decided not to take pictures of the actual delivery for obvious reasons). The family sent us back with a couple of thank you cards that we will be posting on the back door of the dojang. We have also decided to carry this forward through the new year with different service opportunities. We will be working on the details in our January Instructors' meeting and will keep you posted as time goes on. Calendar for the next few weeks: There will be class this Saturday, December 19. Mr. Ndiba has decided to postpone the testing that was scheduled for this date until after the first of the year. STA will be closed from: December 24-26 for Christmas and December 31-January 2 for New Year's holiday. We will be open on December 22 & 23 with Mr. Carter teaching both days and December 29-30 with Mr. Ndiba teaching both of those days. Then back to our regular schedule beginning January 5, 2021.

Just a quick reminder - We are closed for Fall Break Friday and Saturday (October 23-24) for some much needed rest. Enjoy this time off to be with your family. But be prepared to work out hard starting again next week!

Unfortunately classes will be canceled this evening. Mr Ndiba will not make it back into town in time for class. See you on Friday.

Today is the last day to fill out your testing application for white and yellow belt testing on Saturday, October 17. If you plan on testing during this next cycle, please let Mr Ndiba know today.
