News from Joplin: I hope everyone is doing well, with everything that has been going on this year. I wanted to share the last event of the year with you; due to circumstances, this will be an online event this year to help support the Joplin Public Library Chess Club and Children's Department. We're hoping that things may be able to get back to normal sometime soon and the club at the library will be able to begin meeting again next year. See below for the event information.... Also, some Joplin players have started a new project that we hope to grow over the next few years and have started a non-profit 501c(3) to support chess in the area. We have a Facebook page created (though nothing is on it as of yet) so if you're on Facebook, and you want to give it a pre-emptive like, we hope to have some things up in the near future. https://www.facebook.com/FourStatesChess Our aim is to support chess in MO, AR, KS and OK, with a specific focus on SW MO, NW AR, SE KS and NE OK. We will also be putting up a simple website soon as well; currently the domain just goes to a page on the Joplin Chess site.
