Spokes Family! Are you wondering how you can make a difference? Here's how you do it!! Share the information below with local business managers, owners, and companies. We're looking to advertise for local businesses and would love your help to let them know about us! We're offering three different sponsor packages. Signs listed below will be placed on the fence all year. These will be permanent signs displayed at all times. ... Our goal in 2021 is to: -Replace our very damaged starting gate system. -Asphalt (or concrete) our 3rd corner -Replace our current lights with LEDs and installing two additional poles. -Improve the spectator seating area to include more seating, better lighting, and a better view of the race facility. We've quoted around $30,000 for these updates. This is a HUGE amount of money but we're hoping with your help, we can get some help towards our goals. So please share this with anyone you think might be interested in helping a local nonprofit business give back to the community. Riders and parents!! Something to keep in mind going into the 2021 season. As of January 1st, 2021: -No rider under the age of 13 regardless of proficiency can wear clipless pedals.- This includes current experts and cruisers. You must be 13 years of age (or older) and intermediate or expert to use clipless pedals.

Brian and Brenda Strain are offering gate practice at their house tomorrow. 1057 Ellingsworth Highlandville, Mo. 65669 and sometimes google maps can’t get you there. Ellingsworth is the next road south of Two Rivers and directly across from the Dollar general. There is a new small pizza shop on corner of our road. We are 1 mile at the end of the road as it ends at our drive. Thinking about doing some hot dogs and stuff. Ask you bring your helmets and may want bring your ch...oice of drinks. You read it right, today is Tuesday which means that it’s open practice day. Track is open 6:30-9 for practice. We have some loaner bikes and helmets available on a first come basis. Practice is $5 and a signed waiver is required so please come to the registration building before heading to the track.

UPDATES: First I want to say we had planned on having a meeting on Monday. However due to the timing of the season and our volunteers work schedules we’re going to hold off on that. We’re going to host an end of the year banquet In December where we will speak about many things that took place in 2020 and our focus for 2021. So be on the look out for that event on Facebook. Next, If anyone is interested in helping us with some items we could REALLY use to continue our impro...vements, we are needing a door. 32-33 wide, full height. Similar to a closet door in your home. Would prefer an exterior door, but anything would work. If you are able to assist us with this please let us know. Some other items we could use are 2x4x8 boards. We need approximately 14-16 of them total. Weed killer. We generally spray around 150 gallons at a time on the track so it would need to be concentrate. If anyone has some lying around or are looking for things easy to donate, we could use your help with any of these items. Lastly, and this one is HUGE. I want to take a moment and say a big Thank you spokes family. Without your continued support we would not be here, or be able to continue improving our facility for our riders and families. Every dime spokes brings in (aside from what goes to USA bmx) goes back into the track a facility. All of the workers (including Dave and Brittany) are volunteers. No one is paid for our time and efforts. Everything we do is to make spokes a better place for our kids and families. Although we do make some money from week to week this does not mean we’re sitting on a pile of money. The track has continued cost including food, trophies and general maintenance of the track and facility. We’re beyond grateful for having the space donated by Greene county parks dept, but we do not collect funds from them or receive assistance with maintenance or operation of spokes. I’ve had a lot of questions about our stature and operations over the last year and wanted to put that general statement out to everyone. So please understand when we’re asking for help, we’re coming from a place of wanting to make spokes a better place with every hour we put in. Thank you all for the time, we look forward to seeing you Sunday for our make up race and moms/wife’s event.

Spokes families, this is IMPORTANT so please take a moment to read when you can. Unfortunately, the majority of our staff volunteer members were in direct contact with children over the last few days that have tested positive to the COVID-19 virus. That being said, we have decided what is best for Spokes and all of our riders and families are to cancel racing this evening. We will address possible racing/practice next week and post something for scheduling purposes as soon ...as we can. We appreciate everyone's patience, thoughts, and concerns. At this time, we won't be answering many questions as we've shared all that we can for now. More information will be posted when it is available. We look forward to moving past this difficult time and cannot thank our riders and parents enough for the loyal and continued support during one of if not our most difficult seasons. We could not make it without you all. We'll see you soon!

With the radar showing quite a bit of rain through the practices times we are going to be canceling practice for tonight. Be on the lookout for a work night tomorrow, Wednesday. We look forward to being able to see everyone this week!

UPDATE!!!!! Spokes fans, as much as it pains me to say this. We won’t be racing tonight. The track is dry in the majority of areas but there are a few spots where it’s extremely wet/standing water. I think we will wish everyone a blessed week. Come out over the next few days and fix some areas. Thank you all for patience and understanding. We’ll see you next Tuesday!! Track was very wet this morning. The sun is coming out so we will check back in a few hours. Keep an eye out for updates on tonight’s racing!
