Today, we’re celebrating the retirement of a man that has dedicated 51 years to the paint industry, Sam Duvall. Travis Detter, president of Spectrum Paint, had this to say: Friend, Peer, Competitor. I am proud to say that I have known Sam Duvall virtually my entire career in the paint industry. Sam came to Tulsa as the manager of the Kwal store shortly after I started Spectrum Paint Company in 1986. Sam decided to stay in Tulsa even though Kwal retreated from the market a...nd he eventually acquired Dan’s Service Paint Center in Bartlesville changing the name to Duvall’s Paint and Decorating. I finally talked Sam into selling his store to Spectrum Paint Company in 2009 and we have been on the same team for the past 11 years. Sam is one of those people that has been respected in Oklahoma by customers, vendors, and competitors alike. They do not make them like Sam anymore. He will be sorely missed and I wish him the best in his full retirement from our industry. Congratulations and thank you, Sam!
