Good morning all, After careful consideration for the health, welfare and safety of all the participants, volunteers, public participants and vendors and by order of Executive Order #20-05 by Jackson Co, which prohibits Large Group Event means any gathering over 50 or more people. The County’s restriction on large group events applies to all non-essential professional, social and community gatherings where people are not separated by physical space of at least four feet (w...hich is slightly longer than an average arm’s length). Sugar Creek Smokin’ In The Creek BBQ Contest has decided to reschedule our contest. I have spoken with KCBS and the contest is rescheduled for October 16 & 17, 2020, this is a Friday/Saturday contest. No, I don’t know what the Chief’s schedule is, cross our fingers it’s a bye week? Or a Thursday or Monday game!! (we lucked out!! The game is on Thursday Oct 15) There are no other contests in the Kansas City metropolitan area that weekend at this time. I’m hopeful that KCBS is mindful of scheduling contests that don’t conflict. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. My goal is to work with everyone the best possible way.
