Speak Out: Call members of the Senate Appropriations Committee today and tell them to stand with immigrant students by removing language in the Missouri Higher Education Budget (House Bill 2003) and letting colleges and universities determine their own tuition and scholarship policy.
It is our moral & civic duty to take care of our communities, regardless of immigration status. In the midst of an economic and health crisis, the answer is NOT to make college even less affordable. We urge the #MoLeg to eliminate the language in HB 2003. I stand with ALL #StudentsOfMO trying to access higher education in this state. #StudentsOfMO #TuitionEquity #MOLegislature #HigherEd #DACA #Undoc

After 30 years, our Executive Director Dulce Garcia, was finally able to visit Mexico. Dulce is a DACA recipient, and was approved for Advanced Parole to provid...e humanitarian aid in Tijuana. During her visit, she has been on the ground visiting migrant shelters and at the "Campamento de la Esperanza". We are grateful for her leadership! She also got to visit all of the shelters we support and asses their needs. Although the situation at El Chaparral encampment is certainly emergent, we have continued to support the other migrant shelters. Through your continued support we are feeding families, paying rent, buying vehicles, and much more! #shelteraid #borderangels #daca #advancedparole

Lamonte McIntyre voted today in his first U.S. presidential election after serving 23 years in prison for a double homicide he did not commit. McIntyre said, ‘V...oting in my first presidential election was EMPOWERING!’ McIntyre was wrongfully imprisoned for the 1994 murders of two people, despite a lack of physical evidence and motive, when he was only 17. He was exonerated in October 2017 at the age of 41 after evidence of misconduct by the police, prosecutor, defense attorney, and trial judge surfaced. In February 2020, McIntyre was awarded $1.5 million by the state of Kansas as a settlement in a lawsuit for his wrongful conviction, and his record was expunged. McIntyre has since co-founded the nonprofit Miracle Of Innocence, which aims to help others who are wrongfully convicted. See more
