Nothing more refreshing than a winter morning hike by the creek.
GRAND OPENING: The 6th Grade School Store will be opening this week! It will operate a little differently than in years past. Students will place orders online for pickup on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The 6th graders are starting out slow and will tweak the process, with hopes to expand days and products available. Get your account set up and order by 1 pm today for pickup tomorrow!... The TFS Varsity Boys’ Basketball team takes on the St. Louis Patriots tonight at home at 6 pm. Good luck, Eagles!
A good thing to ponder as we start a new year...
Dr. Deborah Steurer, longtime TFS teacher and current Learning Center Reading Specialist, is also a docent for the St. Louis Zoo! Today she introduced the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders to her mentor and partner-docent, Mrs. Gail Figueroa. She visited with the students via Zoom to share one of her favorite zoo primates: coquerel's sifaka, the lemur from Madagascar. Mrs. Figueroa shared how this little guy jumps from tree to tree using his huge strong hind legs. When on the ground, the lemur jumps from side to side with its arms in the air. The best part was when the children did the lemur dance! What a pleasure to spend the morning with Mrs. Figueroa.
Welcome back, friends. It’s 3:30 pm and we officially made it through the first day back after winter break. We came back rested, refreshed, and ready to tackle ‘21.
It's not a holiday party without Tiny Hands!
TFS senior Jace Cavness and freshman Kate Doyle earned all-state honors last Saturday in the Class 1 State Cross Country Championships in Columbia, MO. Kate took 7th place and Jace took 18th and received their all-state medals at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The team is coached by TFS parent, Carl Doyle. What a season!
The preschoolers and kindergartners started their week off with outdoor yoga. So peaceful.
Our TFS faculty members are lifelong learners! To prepare for a fish dissection with her 6th grade science class, Ms. Burns collaborated with our Upper School science teacher Dr. Lensyl Urbano, who has a lot of dissections under his belt. So fun seeing them working together. Stay tuned for pics of the students doing their dissection work!
It's a win-win! With our 2020-21 TFS Basketball Business Sponsorship Program, you can promote your business AND support TFS at the same time. Check it out: https://www.fultonschoolstalbans.org/Parent-Infor/bballbiz/
Our Lower Schoolers harvested winter butter lettuce today with Mrs. Mertz and then had a snack! That’s farm to table in action!
