Saint Luke's has been selected as a high-volume vaccination site by the State of Missouri, and we also expect to receive additional vaccine doses from the State of Kansas. As we are given more vaccine, we’re using a randomized system to contact individuals who are eligible for vaccine per state guidelines. The first groups eligible will be patients 65 and older and patients with certain health conditions listed in state distribution plans. For those in lower-risk categories,... vaccination will follow based on state guidelines. If you're a Saint Luke's patient and have a mySaintLuke's patient portal account, you'll receive a scheduling voucher there to book your vaccine appointment. If you're a Saint Luke's patient and don't have a mySaintLuke's account, you can sign up now at mySaintLukesKC.org. We will contact patients who do not have internet or computer access. Appointments are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to limited supply, not all eligible patients will receive a scheduling voucher each time we open new appointment slots. Watch for more updates at saintlukeskc.org/covidvaccine.
The mineral magnesium activates vitamin D in the body, and vitamin D helps strengthen the immune system. A new paper co-authored by James DiNicolantonio, PharmD and James O’Keefe, MD of Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute suggests that increasing the intake of this may help COVID-19 patients successfully fight off the virus.
We made it! Here's to a healthy and happy 2021. #HappyNewYear
How appropriate that during #HeartMonth, we congratulate cardiologist Anna Grodzinsky, MD as our newest Physician of the Quarter. She is known for her great communication with care team members and keeping patient focus her top priority. Her expertise and kind bedside manner are just added benefits for her patients. Congrats, Dr. Grodzinsky!

One family at a time, this team is changing the world! Congratulations to our incredible Saint Luke's North Hospital lactation consultants on being recognized by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners and the International Lactation Consultant Association for excellence in lactation care! We see how you touch the lives of so many families by strengthening them when they feel vulnerable, empowering them when they start a new journey, helping new mothers feel confident with breastfeeding, and doing it all with love, every day. We don't think you could be more deserving of this award!
This year brought unique challenges and created lots of changes. Through it all, nurse practitioners have spread their wings and championed the needs of patients. There has never been a better time for #NPWeek.
Let the light of #Kwanzaa bring happiness to your home.

Saint Luke's Cardiovascular Consultants had their own pumpkin decorating contest with multiple awards to give out. And the winners are...
No tricks today, just treats. Happy Halloween and stay safe!
KMBC 9 talked to Dr. Sarah Boyd about why some people may need to reevaluate how they interact with others throughout the day following the CDC's new guidance on risk of COVID exposure.
We may be partial, but our little pumpkins are the cutest in the patch! No tricks, just treats as we celebrated all of our boo-tiful babies with a special onesie to commemorate their first #Halloween. Instead of costumes, our babies are just going as The Sweet Things You’ve Ever Seen. Don’t forget to tag us in your photos of your little pumpkin we can’t wait to help introduce your new little boo!
Although we've been wearing masks all year, the CDC has some advice about costume masks this Halloween. Wear a mask as part of your costume and ensure it meets these criteria: -Made of at least two layers of breathable fabric -Covers your mouth and nose -Doesn't leave gaps around your face... #Halloween2020
