Enjoy this short video from Netflix Jr's Bookmarks series, and check here each Friday at noon during February for a different book! Today, award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson reads her book "The Day You Begin". In this YouTube series, "Celebrity readers share children's books by Black authors to spark kid-friendly conversations about empathy, equality, self-love and antiracism." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDs5d_qFbEs

It’s a cold, cold week, which is a good time to put yourself in the shoes of the homeless and other people in need. When you’re outside for long periods of time, it’s important that your feet stay warm and dry. That’s why it’s vital for the homeless and others to have good socks -- and why the library is trying to collect as many new pairs of socks as it can with a Sock Fight between the Belt Branch and the Savannah Branch. During February, library staff are seeking socks to ...donate to Community Action Partnership in St. Joseph and Andrew County Ministries in Savannah. Men’s tube socks are preferred because they fit both men and women and help keep legs warm, but any new socks would be appreciated. Please bring donations to your favorite branch and place them in the specially marked clothes baskets. The winning branch will get a special Sock Fight trophy and bragging rights for the year. And people in need will get new socks, the best prize of all.

Small town living at its best. Some sweet little patrons wanted us to stay warm today with flavored coffee today. Thanks Sara Hare.

Just in case you missed this fun story a few weeks ago, we present it again this week. It's cold outside, so the kids are cooped up inside more, making it a great time to try a Telephone Tale. Put the call on speaker so everyone can enjoy it!
