Even though the state and local government will lift the stay at home order, the Chamber Board of Directors chooses to follow the CDC guidelines. Our Mushroom f...estival brings vendors and visitors from across the country, some of which have pre-existing health conditions. It would be impossible to maintain social distancing. Unfortunately, with these concerns for the health and safety of our community, volunteers, vendors and entertainment the 2020 Mushroom festival is canceled. It is with a heavy heart, that the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors, would like to announce that the 40th Annual Richmond Mushroom Festival scheduled for June 11-13th, has been cancelled. Vendors, your payments are being mailed back to you and you will have them soon. We are hopeful that once the pandemic is over and large gatherings are allowed to occur again, we will be able to hold some sort of celebration for our community. The Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has determined at this time to postpone the 40th Annual Richmond Mushroom Festival to Jun 11-13th. We will continue to watch the COVID 19 pandemic closely. If you are a vendor, we will be calling you next week. Thank you

The Richmond Chamber office will be closed to the public for the next 2 weeks. The staff will be available to answer phone calls and emails. With the situation being fluid, we will update as necessary. Please keep all correspondence to these means. Meetings for the next 2 weeks have been postponed and the executive director will reach out to committee members as needed. "As of now, we are still planning on having the Mushroom Festival in May. We are monitoring the situation and will address it closer to the date of the festival" stated president Felicia Farabee.

Spring is in the air! Just 2 months until the 40th annual Mushroom Festival! We expect this year to be better than ever! Maxx Vega, a Micheal Jackson impersonator will be this years entertainment. We have a few vendor spots open so if you are interested, get those forms in!

MUSHROOM FESTIVAL MASCOT RACES! This year, on Saturday May 1st, the Mushroom Festival Committee will be hosting MASCOT RACES! Any company in Ray County can participate! The winner of the race will be the Grand Marshall of the Lighted Christmas Parade! This event is FREE to participate in and FREE to watch! The Grinch will be there wreaking havoc, McGruff the Crime Dog for RPD, Kirby Kangaroo for CMCCU, Leonidas for RHS and many others! If you don’t have a mascot, you can rent... one of your choosing! Just remember, you have to have it again at Christmas time! You can even hire KC Wolf or Slugger to run for your company! We feel that this will be a fun, entertaining event that will draw attention to local companies that are participating. Please consider entering your company mascot!
