And whether addressing complex body dysmorphia, or simple self-hypercriticism, or chronic abusive self-judgement, or states of dis-ease ranging from a wart to advanced cancer no less "cellulite," I always counsel genuine feelings of acceptance, love and gratitude as the most excellent starting points for change and transformation. For example, any system that sets as its goal to manually self-pulverize and intentionally destroy living tissue in order to overcome dissatisfaction with the aesthetic presentation of one's legs is in my mind extremely questionable. The anatomy of a bruise is internal bleeding from the breaking of capillary beds, and any distinction between "good bruising" and "bad bruising" is the function of phantasmagorical rationalization to justify a distorted and misinformed premise, and poses genuine risks to health. If you use excessive force to repeatedly bruise tissue, you will likely create long term scarring, densification, and more of what you think you are curing, or, depending on age and tissue condition, you will actually weaken the relationship of the skin to its deeper undercarriage of adipose and break up a marriage that is intended to last until death do you part. And with respect to the glowing reports from devoted adherents to such practices, I only suggest that informed consent should include knowledge of effects over time. And if you are using products gently that are marketed to destroy tissue, well, I could use my 357 Magnum to scratch an itch, but that's not what it's marketed for, even though it might hit the spot perfectly! There are bigger fish to fry than cellulite. Attacking your legs to resolve issues of self esteem, diet, exercise, and cultural standards of health and beauty is putting the cart before the horse. The mind will focus, obsess and judge, where the heart will love, accept and expand. If you soften your gaze and behold with your heart, choices will follow that are coherent with the good of the whole.
