Patient of the week - 33 degrees to 24 degrees! Stronger than Scoliosis!

Do you use Tylenol, paracetamol,NyQuil/DayQuil or other acetaminophen products during viral illnesses? You might be prolonging your course of viral illness: Th...e relative costs of the benefits of symptomatic relief versus the adverse effect of toxicity or the impact on illness response have not been determined. Some evidence shows that paracetamol may prolong patient discomfort by prolonging the duration of illness. Children with varicella infection who were treated with paracetamol showed a longer time to total crusting of lesions compared with those who received placebo (14). This may prolong pruritis.
