You've seen Pharmacy's special tree in other posts. The Pharmacy team decorates this tree in various patriotic themes to fit whatever season it is. They want Veterans to know we are ALWAYS thinking about them. Look closely at this tree. Zoom in. Last weekend was Memorial Day - the time to honor those who never came home. Now, Pharmacy has decorated their tree with little soldiers, to remind us all to pray for those still serving, and their safe return home. Thank you, Pharmacy, for your ICARE commitment to our mission.

Big thanks to Cape Central’s National Honor Society students and leaders for the handmade Christmas cards they sent to our Veterans! As we near the end of a challenging year, let us celebrate joy and service to others; the students put a lot of time and energy into making cards to merry-up the Veterans’ holiday season. Advisors are Mrs. Judith Crenshaw and Mr. Seth Landewee at Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau. Thank you all!

Planning is underway at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center to deliver a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine when we receive our supply. Because the COVID-19 vaccine is expected to be limited at first, CDC recommends that initial supplies be allocated to healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents. We will follow CDC guidelines for maximizing benefits of the vaccine and begin by vaccinating our nursing home residents. We will be contacting Veterans to arrange COVID-19 vaccinations by appointment only. Please do not put yourself at risk by coming to the medical center until you have been contacted to confirm an appointment. For more information, visit: https://bddy.me/3mBspuB.

Do you know about VA Video Connect (VVC)? VVC is a VA solution that lets Veterans see their VA health care providers virtually. VVC uses encrypted video to ensure the session is secure and allows Veterans to see and talk to their health care team from anywhere with internet service or a mobile phone data plan. This makes receiving VA healthcare more convenient and reduces travel times for Veterans. It also reduces exposure to others.. VA Video Connect is in use by providers across the country, and is available at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Ask your provider if you'd like to know more!
