Hello neighbors, With the end of August approaching it's time to apply for Residential Parking Permits for the Phelps Grove Neighborhood. This can be done online after August 20th. https://www.springfieldmo.gov//Licensing-Phelps-Grove-Park... For our new neighbors who may not be familiar with the parking guidelines for our neighborhood, here is a handy pamphlet which explains the permitted parking areas as well as some of the other items covered by our Urban Conservation District. We welcome all of our new neighbors as we continue to provide a safe and peaceful place for all to call home.

Hello neighbors, Just a reminder if you have any comments regarding the Fassnight Creek storm water project along Brookside Avenue in front of the Art Museum or the proposed removal of the Kings Avenue bridge, the deadline for your comments is Friday, June 19. You can express your thoughts at: www.springfieldmo.gov/SAMstormwater We have also received an update to the recent meeting with City staff. Here are the comments from this recent email. ... We want to thank the Phelps Grove and University Heights neighborhoods for your interest, input and support on the Fassnight Creek Stormwater Improvement project at the Springfield Art Museum. I wanted to provide a quick update on our next steps moving forward. We plan to discuss this project with City Council at a City Council Lunch Workshop at noon on Tuesday, July 14. These workshops are available for public viewing on the City’s webpage and Facebook live. Public comment cards are available at springfieldmo.gov/samstormwater through June 19. During that discussion, Public Works will provide an update on the current project bid and ask for Council’s guidance in light of what we learned from your feedback. The City did not anticipate the neighborhood’s strong desire to maintain cross-through traffic on Kings Avenue. We do not want to lose the $450,000 of stormwater grant funding that will allow us to further protect neighbors and the Art Museum, so we will be moving forward with phase 1 of the project. However, the question to City Council will center around whether or not they would like for us to pursue an analysis of the feasibility of building a replacement bridge as part of an active phase 2. If so, we will need to seek a firmer cost estimate, do additional stormwater analysis, conduct more comprehensive traffic studies and plan additional meetings with neighbors and other stakeholders. Please help us out by communicating this information to members of your neighborhoods. We will also be sending these next steps to those who have provided email addresses through our online comment cards. www.springfieldmo.gov/SAMstormwater

We have some very festive homes in our neighborhood. This is just a small sample of what our neighbors have done.
