Professional Firefighters of Berkeley Community Outreach 18.02.2021

Yesterday your Professional Firefighters of Berkeley and Professional Firefighters of Berkeley Community Outreach traveled door to door to distribute coats to t...he children of our Berkeley community for the 3rd Annual Coats for Kids Drive. We love serving and giving back to our residents. We couldn’t think of a better time to do this than during the holidays! Special thanks to Mrs. Claus who came from the North Pole, Lori Winkler from SSM Health, Berkeley City Councilwoman Willie Mae Anthony, and the Berkeley Police Department for helping us spread some holiday cheer to our community!

Today your Professional Firefighters of Berkeley Local 2665 and the Professional Firefighters of Berkeley Community Outreach purchased over 300 coats, stocking caps, gloves, and scarves for our annual Coats for Kids Drive. A huge thank you to Julie at Macy’s West County, who assisted us with the large strenuous transaction. She spent hours ringing up all the coats. We can’t wait to hand these out to all the kids! Stay tuned for the coat hand out date and more upcoming events.

Here at Berkeley Fire Department we are doing our best to support one of our own and his family, but the families needs are growing and we need your help. Kevin... Wiemerslage is a father, husband, Firefighter/EMT and a dedicated Local 2665 brother. Kevin’s daughter Elsa has been battling childhood leukemia for 5 years and is in and out of hospitals on a consistent basis. Hospital bills are taking a toll on the family due to Kevin’s wife going on FMLA to be with Elsa and now Kevin going on leave to be with Elsa as well. On September 17th-20th, please open your hearts to this family and give all you can by ordering from St. Louis area Papa Johns locations. You will receive a 20% discount from your total and 20% of the proceeds goes straight to the Wiemerslage family and Elsa. Thank you, #childhoodcancersucks #prayersforelsa

Today is Patriot Day! We want to honor all of the individuals that lost their lives from the events of September 11, 2001. We hope you join us as we Pause to Re...member those men and women, sons and daughters, husbands and wives that didn’t make it home; especially all the first responders and their families that paid the ultimate sacrifice that day. Their memory and devotion to serving others won’t be forgotten and will be carried on by us forever! #wewillneverforget See more
